@Alecia Tramel-McIntyre Your current mission statement has incredible heart, but to make it truly actionable, consider adding the "boots on the ground" reality of your work. Here are three missing pieces to think about: • The "How" (Your Actions): You want to empower and uplift, but how do you do it? (e.g., through medical care, policy advocacy, or peer support groups?) • The "What" (Your Concrete Goal): What does an "empowered" life actually look like for the people you serve? (e.g., achieving health equity, finding stable housing, or ending stigma?) • The "Where/Who" (Your Unique Focus): Is there a specific region or demographic you serve that makes your organization unique compared to other HIV/AIDS charities? Here is an example of a complete mission statement: "To empower people living with HIV/AIDS through comprehensive healthcare and advocacy, fostering resilient, stigma-free lives." Of course yours should focus on what’s missing you do for your clients.
