Yard Sale Scores
Hey guys & gals (sic! We really need a nickname for the people in this group, I'm taking suggestions) Back in the day, I'd hit the yard sale trail pretty aggressively, and used this tactic a lot... 🕒 Yard Sale Hack: The "End-of-Day Bulk Ninja" Move! 🕒 I'm out at dawn, coffee in hand, spotting gems like a $150 "vintage" lamp worth a solid $50 and a beautiful antique rug for $350 (worth at least $175) but at some sales, all the good stuff is overpriced. Instead writing these visits off as a loses, I note the address, or I give the proprietor my card and ask for a call at the end of the day if they want to sell what's left, then head for better horizons. By 2pm, often the sales that had everything overpriced still have most of their inventory, and dead eyes from wrasslin with dealers all day. Sellers are zombies—kids hyped on sugar, tables trashed. "Take it all for!" Boom. That $150 lamp, that $350 rug? Mine for short $ in a good bulk haul that came with those and dozens of other good items that win were overpriced in the sale. ***The trick here, is finding the ones that still have the majority of inventory at the end of the day*** Getting a call back is helpful here. Win/win - they get rid of it all, )which was really the point before they got magic in their heads.) And I get fresh loot at a price I can make a realistic profit. Well bought is half sold:) I've done this lots of times. Moral: Patience = profit. Who's / what's your yard sale nemesis? 😏 #YardSaleHustle #ValueHunter #EstateSaleSecrets ***The trick here, is finding the sales that still have the majority of inventory at the end of the day*** Getting a call back is helpful of course, but there are other ways to figure it out. These days, I'm fortunate enough to be at the point where my auction business provides ample house calls, and I don't need to be so competitive on Saturday morning. I still love to shop em, but usually, Robin and I meander out after 9:00 am(the shame!) looking for personal effects and stuff for the house - I don't even bring my sword and pepper spray any more.

For me half the fun is in the hunt. I do at times enjoy getting up early for the thrill of the hunt. I do often find that I can find some great treasures.
