Choose your pain
Good Morning! I heard a great saying the other day! "Choose your pain. The pain of discipline or the pain of regret". No matter the path, there will be pain. Every day we are faced with decisions. The path of discipline is uncomfortable and surely brings pain, however, it is a pain that leads to the results we intend for our lives. The path of turning away from what needs to be done also brings pain. It brings pain of regret, financial instability, and many times, losing control of ours lives. We become slaves to our weaknesses and others. CHOOSE YOUR PAIN
Remember the pain
Hey Guys, I'm going to start pushing some inspiration in here more often. I am going to try and focus on real situations we have all faced or are currently facing. Today I want to talk about something I heard from someone last week. "Remember the pain" BOBS has been open for almost 2 years now. So far, we have been successful, at least enough to pay all of our bills here and at home. Success is great but can also be your worst enemy. Success can do the following: 1. MAKE YOU FORGET THE PAIN 2. Make you complacent 3. Make you think that you "made it" 4. Blind you on your flanks (not watching competitors) 5. Remove that drive you first had I want to remind people to remember the pain. Remember the pain of turning an idea into a reality. Remember the pain of those around you not seeing the vision as clear as you do. I remember the pain of all my banks accounts being in the negative and still not knowing when we were going to open the doors to our business. I remember the pain of having to unexpectedly take equity out of my home because a former business partner bailed out on his financial obligations. I remember my wife stressing because she never asked for this. I remember us eating the very basics at home because for quite a time we we're unable to afford anything more than that. I can go back and remember the comments made to me. "This isn't a good location", "This is going to take years", " There will be a competitor who parks up the street from you and takes you out", "You will never make it outside of the army" and much more. For all of us who are entrepreneurs or aspiring leaders, there has been deep pain, deep doubt and constant mountains. Use your pain as fuel. Never get comfortable.
