Swales! One year of Swales on my Farm
Fighting back the desert on this farm has been paramount. For 30 years this once-abundant farm has been turning to desert due to mismanagement. Today I install swales to capture and store water and plant fruit trees. Follow the full design, installation, and ongoing management of the system. Please feel free to like, comment and share! Helps video grow. Thanks ! Stefano

How was your success on the trees you planted? How's the bigger project going?

@Stefano Creatini that's great! Did you have to amend your soil or is it just naturally pretty fertile? Sorry I've got lots of questions,I recently cut my first swale on my property. Our soil doesn't have much to it so I'm planting pioneer species first to establish and enrich the area where the high value trees will be going
Hello
Hello everyone, picked up my PDC in 2010 sat on it for a while, currently have been working the last two years on 20 acres in northern California modoc county. My wife and I have been learning and practicing rotational grazing with cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. Recently we cut our first swale in and are currently planting and propagating our pioneer species. The swales around 400 ft long so it's going to take a lot of trees. Hoping to find some community here let's talk soon.
