Drover FastCAT and Agility
Drover (15 months and 3 days) had lots of "firsts" this weekend. First time doing 3 days of FastCAT and he had a personal best nearly every run! Plus he earned his first title BCAT! Also this weekend he entered his first agility competition. Lots of good things in his run and I'm a proud mama!🤩

Wow. It's impressive.
Anyone working on their Parkour entry this weekend?
I'm looking forward to getting started! I think I need to watch the videos again....

THE DECEMBER CHALLENGE IS COMING
We plan to have info ready for you by the beginning of next week! Reminder to be on the lookout for the following items to use in the upcoming challenge: *Something for your dog to get one with two front feet *An item that is dog-elbow-height or lower for your dog to get completely on *Something your dog can jump over *Something your dog can go under *Various items your dog can interact with (like going around, etc.) ***Agility equipment is allowed but may not be used as intended for agility (you can go under a jump but not over it, for example). Looking forward to it!

I taught my dog to stand up on the BOSU ball with his front feet. Will it count?
Exciting News (for Me) and Happy Thanksgiving (for Those who Celebrate)!
Thank you all for being a part of Backyard Dog Training Matters! I'm so pleased that you all have joined me here in this community. I think we have so much fun, learning, and more to come! NEWS: Be on the lookout for items in and around your house or in another convenient location for use in our December challenge! What will you need? *Something for your dog to get one with two front feet *An item that is dog-elbow-height or lower for your dog to get completely on *Something your dog can jump over *Something your dog can go under *Various items your dog can interact with (like going around, etc.) ***Agility equipment is allowed but may not be used as intended for agility (you can go under a jump but not over it, for example). While I don't want to let the cat out of the bag in this dog group (HAR HAR), I can tell you that you will be allowed access to expert help during the December/January challenge and, if you want to, for a small fee, you will be able to submit your challenge video to a outside judge and earn a title in an existing registry, and get a downloadable certificate AND A RIBBON IN THE MAIL! More info on that to come! In other news, the EXCITING NEWS FOR ME part, I'd like to share that I've written/designed a dog agility coloring book! The book includes the story of a group of gnomes as they set up, warm up, and compete at an agility trial! It's pretty realistic for a coloring book about gnomes :) It's a great gift for agility instructors, competitors, judges, and yourself! It's a super stocking stuffer, and it's awesome for relaxation and focus at agility trials or in your RV at the end of a trial day. Here is your link to check it out further: Dog Agility Coloring Book & Story: Which Gnome & Dog Will Win Today? Thanks again for being part of this community! Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it, and have a great rest of your week for everyone too!

I believe progress comes from showing up, not pushing harder. Small effort, done consistently, is what actually changes things over time.
