I have learned from experience that most of the time our goal achievement process is not a solo endeavor. Of course our goals are very personal, but the bigger the goal, the more likely that some guidance, instruction, and/or teamwork will come into play. Let me tell you about my friend, Red. He had a goal to write a book someday. In fact, he had a packet of manila folders that contained a couple of rough drafts of manuscripts. His problem… he had no idea how to publish a book. He asked around to others he knew who had written a book, and the costs they told him seemed out of reach. Long story short, he found out that I write and self-publish books on Amazon and asked me if I thought I could help him. We had our first meeting just 4 months ago when he gave me his manila folders to review. I could see this was something I could help him with and I sent him a quote, he approved, and I got to work. Today Chico and I went to Red’s place and took some videos and photos of him unboxing his first order of books. 🙌🏼 Red had kept praying over his goal to publish his stories, trusting that somehow God would make a way. I had kept praying over my goal to get a client that I could help publish a book. Our trust in God to lead us in the right direction, to learn the necessary things, to cross paths with the right people, and our willingness to accept help is essential to achieving our goals. ➡️ Was there a time when someone unexpectedly stepped in and helped you achieve a goal?

And that means I'd love your input on our content for this group! Personal goals and dreams are just that, very personal. Most of the time I refrain from asking anyone to share a specific goal, but of course you can do so anytime if you'd like. What I would like to ask though is, what is something that you'd like to learn about goal setting. Literally, anything. Do you have a word or phrase that you choose (or the Lord drops in your heart) as a guide for each year? If so, does your word inspire you to action, or does it help set boundaries? I've had both kinds... and this year I feel like my phrase is intended to help set boundaries. My phrase for this year is, "Mind your own business." I've had to really think about the depth of what that means, including making a list of the things that I would consider my business. If you have a word or phrase for the year, I'd love to hear yours and a little bit about why you chose it.
