Finally Landed a Remote Gig
Hello everyone, I’m happy to say I was able to land a full time remote job! It was a long journey, filled with ambiguity and for myself had quite a bit of risk involved. I left my job a few months before landing my remote job. I was stuck in a job I hated in a city that I couldn’t justify the high cost and low value for. So in my case necessity was the mother of invention, but I don’t suggest taking the same route. It’s still early days for myself, but I am starting to see a way out. If anything at least a little breathing room to build the life that I want. I’m hoping in the coming months things will start to turn in my favor, just keeping my head down while having a greater vision in mind. We’re all on the same journey, so I hope your time will come as well!

Where to go from here?
I was wondering if you guys could help me figure out where to go next? I'm going to Puerto Vallarta for the month of December. After that I have a few options. I can't stay in Puerto Vallarta as, for me, it's super expensive so... I can go back to Merida, which is a lot more affordable, but it's still more expensive than say, Colombia. I can go back to Colombia because my visa will have renewed by then. I can go to Pereira as I have been there before and I liked it and it's much more affordable than than Medellin. OR I can pull the trigger and go to Cambodia. Specifically Seam Reap. It's obviously more expensive in South America than Southeast Asia. Healthcare is better in in Mexico and Colombia than it is Cambodia It would be expensive to get to Cambodia, but once I'm there it'd be much cheaper. Cost is one of the driving factors for me but so is mental health and quality of life My parents are older now so if anything happens I can quickly get back to the US if I stay in South America. I need the time to get working again and focus on growing my business so saving money is important to me. Being 12 hours ahead of all my friends and family is difficult. Not having any resources or friends or family in Cambodia would be difficult. Bottom line: It seems there are so many factors that I'm having a really difficult time deciding. Southeast Asia in general is much safer than South America and the cost savings, but the fact that if and when I get working I would be working graveyard shifts which would be really difficult for me and a bit of a nightmare but once I had the extra money I could come back. Any insight that would help me make a decision would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long message but I wanted to lay out all the factors as I see them so I can make the best decision 🙏

@Christopher Tech Sales Thanks for the input. Because of several factors, I'm considering going back to Colombia, after the new year when my Visa resets. My main reason for going to Cambodia was for cost savings but I also am trying to live my life and I'm not really attracted to Asian women typically other than filipinas The time zone stuff is real problem.

@Christopher Tech Sales lol I lived in Brazil for a year before. When I was making more money. I actually was engaged to a Brazilian girl. I love Brazil but it's a lot more expensive than Colombia. I'm only currently making about 2K a month right now with my business. I need to make more money in order to be able to go back there. That's why I'm in the program 😎💪
Bachelor's degree?
@Austin Abeyta what are your thoughts about applying for jobs that say that they want a bachelor's degree? Some of these onboarding roles that I'm looking at say that they require bachelor's degree but they also want experience which I have but I don't have a bachelor's, only an associates.
