Anyone here a brain surgeon for kids?
Asking for a friend: Looking for some help. My son was just diagnosed with a host of neurological disorders (OCD, ADD, depression, anxiety, learning disorders, etc.) after a brain mapping session from a company in Scottsdale called the Nerofeedback Institute. The technology comes out of MIT and Harvard (just to say, it's not a fly by night operation). They claim to be able to treat him using a variety of alternative therapies. However, before I let "doctors" poke at my son’s brain, I'd like the opportunity to get some second, third, and fourth opinions. Does anyone have connections to neurologists or neuroscientists they know and trust? I'd be grateful for an introduction if so!

We are part of the Lucile Packard (Stanford Children’s) Neurology group… my daughter and one son have been patients for years. I can’t say enough about their program and our specific neurologist (who’s about to retire, though). I am also a fan of the alternative approaches available through Amen Clinics. These may be solid options for additional opinions/feedback in helping make a decision for care pathways.

I understand the idea behind this to an extent… stimulate the housing market and fabricate ability for buyers to get in by making more affordable payments with the longer term. But it costs those buyers so much more in interest over time. Most Americans (not to generalize, but it’s just true… I underwrote for many years) are not paying down on an accelerated schedule because the cost of homeownership and all that entails is too often not considered when looking at buying. The expenses of homeownership go far beyond PITI! Add in this longer term, inflation over time, the instability of the dollar, and I just don’t see the value of this concept as beneficial to the average American. I foresee people being stuck in homes longer because the pay down will be that much slower, the equity won’t build, and only the truly disciplined will benefit long-term.
