DON’T EXPECT YOUR $9 COMMUNITY TO GET YOU TO $10K MONTHS Low-ticket communities sound great. Charge $9 a month. Get lots of members. Build recurring revenue. But there’s a math problem. At $9/month, you need 1,112 paying members to hit $10K MRR. And those paying members don’t magically appear. If you convert 20–30% of your community to paid, you’d need roughly 3,700–5,600 total members to produce those 1,112 paying members. And then you have churn. So unless you already have a massive audience, a strong ad engine or a reliable source of high-volume traffic, $9 is a volume game. I’d rather make the math easier. Start Premium at $49+ per month. Build reliable traffic into your free community. Create a clear reason to upgrade. Focus on traffic, conversion and retention. Then offer VIP for the people who want more access, support or faster results. You don’t need thousands of paying members to build a $10K/month business. You need a business model where the math actually works. So ask yourself: Are you trying to build a community that needs massive volume? Or one that can make more money with fewer members?
