I hope the event went well, @Kevin Gebert! Next week, I'm hosting a series of prompted writing salons! Anyone who writes for any reason—poetry, prose, lyrics, etc.—is welcome to join. In our writing salons, we follow the Gateless method: - The Gateless method is based on recent neuroscience studies and ancient Zen practices.  - We start writing sessions (called “salons”) with a brief quieting of the analytic mind—a meditation of sorts—and settle into our bodies. - The host (me!) shares a prompt with the group, and we write silently for 15-20 minutes. Go with the prompt or ignore it—there are no rules! - When time is up, a few readers will be invited to share what they’ve written during the salon.  - Listeners shower the readers with adoration. We keep feedback purely positive. This practice is based on what science has taught us about feedback and creativity.  Here are the session times in EST US/Canada: Sunday, September 20 @ 9 PM EST Monday, September 21 @ 11 AM EST Tuesday, September 22 @ 8 AM EST Wednesday, September 23 @ 6 PM EST Thursday, September 24 @ 9 PM EST Friday, September 25 @ 10 AM EST I'd love to have some new faces join us.
