Ferritin level of 6 😲!!
I just got some blood work results back today and my ferritin is SIX ... 6 😳!?!?! This is down from a result of 9 that I got 6 weeks ago and it was 22 six months ago. Lots of other labwork to go along with it, but how am I even getting through the day without a nap? 🤔 I have an EGD/colonoscopy in a few weeks to check things out. I'm calling my FNP on Monday because everything I am researching says that I am in "needing blood transfusion" territory. Ugh

@Marina Petratos I start iron infusions next week and hope that helps my iron levels get closer to optimal range!

@Brenda Gill thank you! I hope Dr Stephanie can help me figure it out through the RootRx program 😁
Howdy everyone!
Hi, everyone! I'm Wendy. I will turn 50 in a few weeks. Perimenopause is grinding my gears a bit. I'm struggling with my weight and am very tired no matter how much I sleep. I hope to share inspiration and love with everyone here as well as be a listening ear when needed. It's good to be here

The menopause stage of life is no joke. I tell my husband he should be soooo happy he isn't a woman LOL!
Perimenopause, ADHD, and weight...oh my!
👋 Hi! 48 years old and new here. Perimenopause has thrown me for quite a loop. I'm on Estradiol and progesterone, which help manage my symptoms greatly. However, I was still experiencing severe brain fog, which led me to be tested and diagnosed with ADHD earlier this year. I'm taking Adderall, which is helping, but I'm having trouble finding the right dosage. My attention is improving, but I'm still struggling with word finding and losing my train of thought. Not sure if this is now average aging or a different cause. I have battled with my weight for my entire life. For two years, my insurance covered Wegovy, which kept me at a comfortable weight and eliminated all food noise. Once they removed that coverage, I regained all 35 pounds in less than 6 months, despite exercise and watching what I ate. I'm now taking a compounded GLP1 through Midi, which has helped me to lose 10 pounds in 3+ months. I'm exercising and lifting weights to maintain strength and muscle tone. It's so slow and I can't afford to up my dosage. I don't want to be thin, just comfortable in my own skin. I have Hashimotos, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea. For my age, I am on a ton of prescriptions to manage all of these things. Trying to solve my own problems... That's why I'm here.

We sound so similar and I see the same medical issues grouped together like this all the time. I understand your discouragement with taking all of the meds. I'm on too many as well and hoping to get off a bunch of them as I get healthier!
I’m dealing with heart palpitations.
I just completed an echo, and 24 EKG which both came back normal. My ferritin was at 10, in 30 days I got it to 26. I’m still working to get it to 60 or 70. I also have a cherry size fibroid in the muscle of my uterus. I’ve been dealing with the palpitations for 4 years which has caused me to have bad anxiety. I need help, should I get an iron infusion?

My recent May labwork had my ferritin at 9 (it's only been as high as 20 in the past couple of years) and 2 FNPs said NOTHING to me about it! ... sigh ...

@Chrisna Schirippa yep, that's the first thing I know I need to work on. In the meantime, I'm getting some iron infusions to help out
Exhaustion
Hi, I've been exhausted forever and always feel like I never have enough sleep. I feel like I ignore it during the day because I am working and it is very high stress, but from the second I come home and sit down it's like my brain shuts off and I can't do anything else. On weekends, I don't have any motivation so it's hard to get my day started and then continue with energy throughout the day. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help? I don't drink coffee because after about a month the effects stopped working and I just started getting major headaches. Naps also don't help they don't reset me. I'm open to any suggestions!

I've watched my sleep scores on my fitness watch go from the 90s, before menopause, to the 60s, after menopause... My restless leg is also a bigger problem now than ever before. Bleh
