"If you build it they will come."
O, how I remember that movie quote; it was one from Field of Dreams. It stuck with me even to this day. I always dreamed of writing a book or creating something unique. I dealt with writer's block and other issues, but this quote has stuck with me. So in my mind, I am motivated. If you're stuck on a certain point, don't stop there; figure out a way to ask a mentor or AI. Just think you are the one who has the idea. The motivation is what will bring it to life. You are the one who can build it with or without a team. Start building your dream like the man in Field of Dreams, who made a baseball field. I hope this motivates you to keep going, and you will see the results after all the sweat, tears, and debugging. This is your masterpiece; claim it, and the rest will come.

@Antti Miettinen So glad this is as motivating to you as it is to me. If we never take risks, what do we end up with? Wondering what could have been, and that sometimes is worse than failing.
Morning fellow game dev's.
Morning to all who venture on the unforeseeable quests that have been living inside our imaginations. My name is Kori, and I am a student right now in Devslopes exploring the world of coding and also mom of two teenagers so my house can get a bit wild. I came across a journey in game development through a group on the website Skool that is developing games with the help of AI. So I am a girl with very little knowledge of gaming development, but I have ideas and a start. I'm from Oklahoma, and I have no background in gaming, just a dream to make one. My game dev goals are to learn Godot and develop my first game, which i have started with the help of AI, but I want to develop one on my own as I learn from my classroom and videos. I believe I will be able to grow in my gaming development. My game is Elderhollow: The story of Patience Willow. I am currently working on it. This project is dear to my heart, and although it's not perfect, with the help of AI, I have made a start.

I'll message you when I have a workable demo.
I'll go first!
My name is Antti, but I also go by AJ. I'm a Software Engineer from Finland, working with C# in the heavy metals industry🤘 (welding, not music unfortunately) I've been making games for about 7 years. I got started back in university after my first programming course, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I enjoy building systems-based games or exploring interesting themes, like those inspired by Nordic pagan religions and mythology. Right now, I’m working on a Roguelike mining game set in a deep dark mountain, where you explore the dangerous caverns on your journey to the bottom! Next up on my journey: I want to learn how to compose music for my games.

Animation Progress Update
I made some visuals for my game, let me know what you think! Don't mind the terrain, it's still placeholder art 😅

Wow, that is cool. I love seeing games like these, it reminds me of the good old days where World of Warcraft was 2D and the maps o how i miss the simple maps but it brings back those memories of hour of sidequests and endless battles.
New character unlocked!
Hi! I'm Ruxi, a self-taught artist from Romania, currently working on my portfolio to get hired as an artist in game dev. I'm mostly focused on creating assets for now, but I am also interested in writing and VA. If anyone wants to collaborate or needs help with some of these, let me know! I love working in teams, as it's easier to focus and stay on track than by myself. Most of my experience is in drawing 2D characters, but I'm also interested in learning some 3D modelling, Grease Pencil, UI design, pixel art and texture painting. I learn best by doing, so let me know if you wanna collab. My personal goal at the moment is to create concept art and assets for an action/combat game inspired by Romanian culture and traditional folklore. It's not something I've seen very often (Resident Evil Village is one of the more prominent examples at the moment), and I think there's potential for some cool stuff in there.

@Ruxi D This is very inspiring you have ventured and made your art a reality by pursuing your dreams and connecting with others is a very important aspect. I am new to the gaming world and have so far been relying on AI to help me become a better game developer, as well as being part of a group, which helps me grow as a developer day by day. Sounds like an awesome good time, looking forward to seeing more of your journey, and I'll keep you in mind if I come to a halt in the art department building. It's a team effort.
