Getting youth hunting with a Tradbow
Youth Tradbow Post 2 for the week! Getting kids off on the right foot has a lot more to do with letting them go and explore and a lot less with over coaching. Video 2 and 3 are examples of progressive shooting - shooting since she was 2 - at 7 years old in that first video and 11 in the second. She was drawing almost 25# at 7 with that checkmate recurve.. 35# at 11 and by the spring- finally 40# and into year after. She is now getting 45# out of her Kiowa recurve at 15 years.. and can shoot my 53# Howatt Hi- Speed up to around 48# at her draw length. Time and patience.. it all pays off. Get a kid shooting today! Cheers! - Grant

3 Days of Chemo in 4 Minutes
Ive been fighting cancer this fall and winter. My deer season was destroyed and for me that was the worst part of this whole shitty mess. For the first time in the last 35 years there is no deer meat in our freezer. For the first time in 45 years I missed deer season. Here is a look at what I go though every 2 weeks. Its raw and hard to watch but cancer touches us all and as a retired journalist this is my way of giving back and attemping to shine a light on fighting cancer. This coming Tuesday I have my last session of chemotherapy. I get to ring that damn bell. They gave me 6 months to a year now we are talking 2 to 4 years. I have good days and bad days and my one major take away is this. A good day should be seized like its your last one and for me that's my reality. I love this new venture in traditional archery hunting I just hope to be more engaged in the future. I LOVE BOWHUNTING. That's what is going on my headstone. https://youtu.be/CtCkeasL-uM?si=srPJMbUn5eP78qgf

Doug that was an impactful share and really well written article, thank you for taking your time to do it.
Happy Saturday Y’all
Got a new feather chopper this week. I’ve always liked banana cut, but didn’t want 5 1/2” feathers. I found a 4” banana cut chopper at 3Rivers and ordered it up. Also got a dz 400 (2117) Gamegetters with 100 gr inserts. I was shooting 3” shield cuts, but I’m getting better flight with the 4” banana’s. Personally, I think they look way cooler also! Plan on getting some Fl. Lime feathers before fall for October Whitetails. Right now I’m just using up colors I have on hand. Also dropped some pics of my baby. A 64” Manitou longbow from Kalamazoo Bow Works. 57#@28”, I draw 27” cuz of a shoulder injury, so 54-55#. The riser is Jarah, with Zebra wood belly and Rhodesian Brushstroke Camo on the back. It’s got very mild deflex and heavy reflex in the limbs. Im like a little kid at Christmas!🤣
Happy Saturday Y’all

Bad Weather In NJ
I really wanted to shoot a few arrows this weekend. Yesterday day would have been great, but my schedule didn't permit it. Today it's non stop rain that's supposed to switch over to a snow storm that may cripple us like the one we had 2:weeks ago. So no archery for Boy Gone Bad this week! So I'm done by the next best thing ... 🙃😎
