Le verbe Finir (To Finish)
Salut! Today you're learning finir — and with it, a whole family of French verbs that all follow the same pattern. Video below Finir — To finish Je finis — I finish Tu finis — You finish Il / Elle / On finit — He / She / We finishes Nous finissons — We finish Vous finissez — You finish (formal / plural) Ils / Elles finissent — They finish Finir is a regular -ir verb, which means once you know this pattern you can conjugate hundreds of other verbs the same way — choisir (to choose), grandir (to grow), réussir (to succeed), and many more! Can you make a few sentences using today's words? Write them in the comments below!

The Sounds F and V
Salut! Today you're learning two sounds that are easy to recognize — but French spells them in more ways than you might expect. Video below Le son F — like the "f" in "fun" f → fou, chef, neuf / ff → affreux / ph → phare, photo Le son V — like the "v" in "very" v → vivre, voiture, voyage, livre, neveu The main surprise here is ph — borrowed from Greek, it always makes an F sound in French. And watch out for neuf and chef — that final f is pronounced, which isn't always the case with French consonants! Can you give me couple word using today's sounds? Write them in the comments below!

Aller — To Go
Salut! Today you're learning one of the most useful verbs in French — aller means "to go," and you'll use it every single day. Video below Je vais — I go / I'm going Tu vas — You go / You're going Il va — He goes / He's going Elle va — She goes / She's going On va — We go / We're going (casual spoken French) Nous allons — We go / We're going Vous allez — You go / You're going Ils vont — They go / They're going Aller is also the key to talking about the near future — je vais manger means "I'm going to eat." Once you have it down, a whole new layer of French opens up. Can you make a few sentences using today's words? Write them in the comments below!

The Sounds S and Z
Salut! Today you're learning why the letter S doesn't always sound like an S — and when it secretly becomes a Z. Video below Le son S — like the "s" in "sun" s → souffler, salade ss → chasse, dessert c → exercice sc → ascenseur / x → six Le son Z — like the "z" in "zone" z → zone, zéro s → raison, rose, musique, oiseau (s between two vowels always becomes Z) The big rule to remember: a single s between two vowels is always pronounced Z in French. Double it up and it goes back to S. What's your favorite word with a Z sound? Write them in the zoo below!

@Etien Rousseau I think I heard some Super Mario Brothers in there lol. And I agree, the "in" sound is difficult and not what I was expecting.
