Building materials coarse continued..
Here is the 5000 words I typed out for building materials coarse not knowing it only allowed 500 words. Ughhh. Haha. So this is the list of materials. Sorry in advance again for not knowing exactly how to navigate this skool app yet but I really hope this group reaches the animal lovers who are as passionate about helping strays as I am! Thank you to eveyone who even takes the time to read this or read the intro to the group! Even 1 person besides me building condos for these homeless strays makes a difference! I hope to have people all over America and farther helping with this one day. In this coarse I'm going to tell you all what exactly we all need to build these little guys a nice place they can call home. In reality though as long as your building something that protects them from the elements and that you can easily set up anywhere in your yard. That's all these little guys need to have a fighting chance to survive. There's nothing better then knowing you made a huge difference in weather or not some sweet little animal is going to survive or not thanks to your condo that you made by hand. So let's get to it. First off your going to need either 2 by 2s that are 6ft in length or 8 ft works too if your building something a little bigger than what I'm proposing. Or you can use 1 by 1s by 6ft or 8ft. -Then your going to want to get plywood that's 1/2in thick and about 4ft by 4ft to start. Make sure it's 1/2 thick or more so that it's thick enough to hold the animals weight and withstand the wind and or elements it may endure. -Measuring tapes and pencils! Lots of both of these. Specially pencils. They always tend to roll away when you need them most. :) - If you want to install a small camera in it to see who comes into your little condo and watch your furry friend, your more then welcome to! Just be sure to post the cutiest moments with all of us in the group! -Your going to want to get a box of screws or nails about an 1 in long. 2in is fine but you don't want the screw or nail to go in crooked and be sticking out an have the animal hurt itself by stepping on it or anything so the shorter the better but long enough that when you put the pieces up together and screw them down it grips enough of each piece to hold it together sturdy. Which means 1/2in plywood meeting at the corners and having to screw it together is 1in total so try to get screws a little longer then 1in. Bout 1"1/4in is fine, 1"1/2in if you want to be certain it'll hold up.
