Have any of you taken Con law yet? It is such an interesting and dynamic area of the law, especially right now as the rule of law is being testing by the executive branch in ways we have not yet seen. Do you have a favorite case? Is there a certain area of the law that is interesting to you? I have always been fascinated with gang injunctions. It is a violation of the 1st amendment right to free assembly. The argument is that the safety of the neighborhood is more important that an individuals right to hang out with you who they want, even if they aren't committing a crime, just because they have been identified as a member of a certain group (albeit generally a criminal organization).

Hi law skoolers! Starting July 6, we will do a 1L skills refresher for you all! Law school focuses on learning the LAW but you need SKILLS to read, write, and argue the law. Each week we will focus on one skill set that is needed to succeed in law school. Gotta make sure we get the fall semester started off right! Even if you are a rising 2L, make sure to join us since we can always improve these skills. OK folks, we are getting ready to launch a program for the incoming 1L's to help bridge gaps in the onboarding and orientation process of some law schools. For our existing members, we encourage you to join in the fun as a refresher and to pick up some skills you may have missed or can improve. However, before we finalize things I want to check in with each of you to see what you wish you knew BEFORE you started law school.
