New using SUNO. I'm an old school producer (Berklee grad, multiinstrumentalist, Grammy voting member, bla bla bla) and I totally see SUNO as an amazing tool for any musician. I really can't understand the anti AI doomsday musicians around the globe. I use SUNO as my own personal Quincy Jones. I provide the music, SUNO spits back musical ideas. Great ones. Timbaland pays thousands a month to his producers to spit back musical ideas. I pay $20 a month to a synthetic one. Why is THAT questionable? But I digress... Looking for SUNO gurus who give me consent to poke inside their brain. I promise I'll be gentle :-)

Over on SubmitHub, they got a bunch of free tools such as finding the genres of the songs you created as well as your popularity score on Spotify. Your score needs to be at least 25 for the algorithm to be in your favor. If you are someone like me who is an audiophile, you will notice that there are issues that arise when making music using Suno AI. And if you are new to Suno or have been doing it awhile, this should appeal to everyone. The Dreaded 7:59: If your song you created ends up 7 minutes and 59 seconds, that means that Suno hallucinated, and that Suno created a neverending song that gets cut off at the threashold of 7 minutes and 59 seconds. It is best to either pick version two, or create a new batch of songs. Song Came Out Too Short: If your track came out too short such as less than two minutes, especially instrumentals, sometimes its best to use Extend to increase the duration of the track. However, if it doesn't, then extend usually isn't enough. Sometimes it's best to do a fresh create instead. If you are using lyrics though, you can control how long a track is based on the length of your lyrics. The duration slider I wouldn't recommend because just about at every moment, it cuts off the song in the middle. Unless you plan on fading it out, I wouldn't use it. Pops and Improper Fade Out: I use a free tool (25 years so far) that I been using called Audacity to handle this, but majority of the time, you will hear a pop or click in the beginning of your song and/or the song cut out in the middle of a fade out. You can use audacity to do a proper fade in to remove that pop and click at the beginning as well as fade out the song properly. This can also be used to remove the Suno metadata when exporting your wav file. It also has a ton of other tools such as editing help remove sections you are not happy with, and you have more control over your song. Listen To The Full Song: Sometimes listening to part of the song isn't enough. I had rare moments where a good bit of the beginning and middle sounded great, but then sometime in the middle of the song a hallucination took place where the voice or sound was locked, causing it to go REEEEEEEEEEEE the rest of the song. Shit. I had moments the entire track was like that. Don't assume your songs came out okay until you hear the entire track.

For everyone asking me why their DistroKid payment is still processing, here’s what happened to me personally. My first payout was around $1,000, and it went through without any problems. Once I made my first withdrawal of more than $10,000, though, DistroKid asked me to verify that I actually controlled the artist and the social media accounts connected to it. They offered multiple verification options. I used Instagram, so I had to show that I controlled the Instagram account and that it was connected to the artist’s Spotify profile and message distrokid from Instagram. My advice is to create an Instagram for your artist, keep control of the login, and add that Instagram account to your Spotify profile before you ever request a major payout. A lot of you are getting your first bigger payments right now, so I believe some of you may be hitting this exact verification step. It does not automatically mean anything is wrong. You also need to understand that payments can take time. Mine usually arrive fairly quickly, but I’ve had withdrawals take up to 12–14 days. I even contacted DistroKid support about one of them, and they said the payment was fine and still processing. Could they be reviewing streams, auditing the account, or checking your information? Possibly. I don’t know, and neither do most of the people spreading theories online. The only thing I can confirm is what happened to me: once the payouts became larger, DistroKid required me to prove that I controlled the artist’s connected social media accounts. Get that stuff organized now so you’re ready when your payout comes.

Just finished my first 12-track dark fantasy album! 🎉 I'm at the stage where I'm getting everything ready for DistroKid before releasing everything to YouTube, and I'm trying to remember what Jesse recommended for preparing and mastering tracks before distribution. I know he covered it somewhere, but I can't seem to find it in all my PDFs and notes from Jesse. I've been using the free version of BandLab, but I'm curious what everyone here is actually using to get that polished, professional sound before uploading to DistroKid. Are you sticking with BandLab, or are you using something else? Any mastering apps, workflow tips, or recommendations would be appreciated! Thank you so much.
