A Small Habit That Changes the Whole Culture
A warm little reminder for all of us (me included): “Like what you appreciate.” One of the simplest ways to give more than you take in a community is to reward the people who are showing up. I’ve been noticing something in a lot of communities that we read a really good post, we might even comment… but we don’t always hit the like. And I get it! We are sometimes moving too fast or sometimes we forget. But that one small click can mean so much. A like is a quiet way of saying: - “I see you.” - “Thank you for taking the time.” - “That helped me.” - “Please keep sharing.” So here’s the little habit I’m practicing, if I’m moved enough to comment or if someone’s post/comment made me pause, smile, learn, or feel less alone, I will take one second and like it too. It’s such a small action… but it’s genuine encouragement. And encouragement is one of the easiest ways to make a community feel like a place people want to keep showing up. Why do you like a post or comment?

@Kelli Howard use this community space to here to practice on. I was writing ✍️ in comments with whatever came naturally. Look at person’s profile if they are new in community. Lots of ideas on engagement in the course when you’re ready to work on it.

@Kim Job definitely a great reward to the writer ✍️! Doesn’t it feel good making unexpected connections from it?

SNC - Week 2 Almost Done Time for GIF Challenge
How do you feel your community engagement going? Some communities will use GIFs, Boost, One word answers to a question to encourage engagement and connect with members. Let's try GIFs from A to Z and see if we can get through the alphabet tonight. Post is comments a GIF beginning with the next letter. I'll start with A.
