The small wins are showing
Buddy I feel is making some great small progress here at home. Even though he was crate trained, he was still at times getting up at night and not necessary going to the toilet just wanting to go outside. The past week he has slept through the night after going into his crate. This morning we went for a walk and at times not pulling on the lead. The slip lead has helped. He is recognising and going to place when told to. Yesterday he sat on place, while one of our young ones read him a story which he listened without licking and allowed for his feet to be touched. Story time is a very sacred thing for connection for our two. Today we had our review for our foster children which is a lengthy meeting and house inspection. On arrival I put Buddy in his crate as he gets excited when people arrive. Once settled I brought him out to the dining room area on his lead. He did go over and say hello with a little bit of excitement but was pretty calm to how he normally is. He then went to place and laid beside me there for over 3hrs. That I'm really proud of him for that as he usually jumps up and at times scratches people and doesn't leave them be if it's someone new This was a great win as the biggest concern that my foster children's mum was concerned about, being Buddy a rescue and small dog his bound to attack her children at some point and hurt them. To be able to show my foster care agency that Buddy isn't any threat at all and we are continuing to work to support him to be the best mate he can be made me super proud. Still way to go but greatful for these wins.
