Turkey Day Wine
Hi everyone. What wine is going to be on the table with your turkey tomorrow? I'm thinking of opening something bubbly, maybe a sparkling Rose'.

@Pamela Frank-Hall It's funny, I had a bottle of Samuel Robert Rose ready to go for him, because he prefers a sweeter/fruitier wine style, but he went for the Pecorino. I'm so proud, lol!

@Pamela Frank-Hall esoteric! Wow, that brought back memories! 😄
Red wine recommendation
A friend just asked for a red wine recommendation under $30 to bring as a host gift to a friend's house. Apparently they prefer Italian or California Cabernets. What would you choose? 🍷😁

@Erin Harris Mmmm - love me a good Italian red!! I'll try to find the Santa Margherita - I've only ever seen the Pinot Grigio. 😄🍷

Just in case anyone's curious, I was showing the Bezel Cabernet from Paso Robles at a Total Wine & More and recommended it to my friend. She ended up leaving the store with the Sextant Cabernet instead, and was pretty enthusiastic about it. Same price point, but since I was in Total Wine, I let the associates help her out since they are better versed in their Winery Direct wines.
Bezel Wines
Showed two amazing wines from Bezel Wines yesterday, which is part of the Cakebread family of wines. The Cabernet Sauvignon and the Chardonnay. Lord have mercy, they were delicious! The Chardonnay was not overly oaky (the way I like it!) - 70% fermented in stainless and the rest aged 8 months in French oak. Fruity, complex, balanced - perfect for a holiday table! The Cabernet was also my preference of "not too oaky" and very food friendly. A bit more medium bodied than a lot of California Cabs, another great choice for the holidays as well. Priced under $30, both will pair nicely with dinner and the relatives! More info here

Wine Fun Fact 11/3/25
Did you know that Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the traditional French wine grapes, was created accidentally in the 17th century? That's right - it's a hybrid! A scandalous cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. 🍷+🥂=🍷 😘

How much wine to plan for the holidays
Just a quick tip! Did you know a bottle of wine only contains @4-5 glasses? Well, ok, 3 if you're doing it right 😉, but seriously - there are only @25oz in a bottle of wine. A standard restaurant pour is 5-6oz, or 8-9oz if they offer a larger option. 6oz equals 3/4 of a cup. Go ahead, measure that into a glass, and then multiply it times 4 - that's ALL that's in that bottle. SO - if you are planning to wine to serve with dinner, you want to be sure you have at least 1 bottle for every 4 guests. Sure - some people will pass on the wine, but others may enjoy a 2nd glass. And since I doubt Jesus himself will show up, running out of wine is sad. 😥 So, erring on the side of abundance isn't a bad thing. 🍷😊
