Cameras ON, or Cameras OFF…. What would you prefer?
Hi troopers. I wanted to ask a question about having the cameras on or off when we meet online. What would you prefer? I am interested in finding out your preference and opinions since I am starting the Tuesday calls up again. Please also tell my WHY when you give your opinion so that I can understand your preference a little better. Thanks for your replies 👍

Alf, This is a great question and topic. I'll preface my answer by saying I'm a little "old school." When there is an opportunity to connect with people, my first choice is always face-to-face. If I have an issue or conflict with someone, my immediate choice is to meet in person to discuss it. In an era where we are increasingly dependent on technology and often distracted by it, I remain the OG when it comes to small business, sales, and marketing—where a handshake is the agreement. Given this perspective, my preference for our online meetings is to have cameras on. Why I Prefer Cameras On I find that requiring cameras-on is the closest digital substitute for being in the same room and fosters a more engaging, respectful, and effective collaborative environment for the following reasons: 1. Enhanced Communication and Connection: Being able to see faces and body language allows for much richer communication. We can observe critical non-verbal cues, which are essential for understanding intent and adjusting the flow of the discussion. This significantly helps the relationship grow interpersonally within the group. 2. Mutual Respect and Engagement: Keeping a camera on demonstrates a level of respect and commitment to both the speaker and the other members of the Mastermind. It signals that I am fully present and actively participating in the conversation, echoing the seriousness of an in-person business meeting. 3. Accountability and Focus: The visual element inherently promotes better focus and accountability during the meeting, leading to more productive and higher-quality interactions for everyone involved. I understand that this may not always be feasible due to bandwidth or other circumstances, but as a default, I believe having cameras on elevates the quality of our group experience and honors the principles of direct connection. That's my token...
