Playbooks are helpful with AI
Playbooks are why some AI results blow you away and others are garbage. AI is really good at doing things repeatedly. Exactly the same way every time. But only if you give it enough information about exactly what you want. A playbook is just a step-by-step process with detailed instructions for each step. Nothing fancy. And to make it even easier, you don't have to write it yourself. Talk to AI with your voice, tell it your process, and let it write the playbook for you. Then test it. Tweak it. Keep testing. When it finally works exactly how you want? Every time after that it should work pretty consistently. Documentation isn't glamorous. But it's the difference between AI that kind of helps and AI that actually works. Anyone give this a try or want to hear about it more?

3 Easy Ways to Use AI
Great conversation today! Wanted to share a few easy tips to help you get started with AI. 1) Use the tools that easiest to access. People often ask me which tools are best. And my answer is "The AI Tools you actually use". If you use Microsoft then it's probably Copilot. If you use Gmail/Google Docs then use Gemini If you have flexibility then try Claude 2) Try using AI for the work you are already doing! You don't need to make up work to test AI. Just see if it can help with the tasks that you already have to do. 3) Remember to use critical thinking and discernment. Your experience and expertise is your super power when using AI. AI is happy to do whatever you ask, but it's your job to determine if what AI made was actually good. Hope you all have a great weekend!

New personal AI project for things I need to buy
I saved a lot of time last week at Lowes with a personal AI bot I made just for me. It records things I need to buy when I think of it and reminds me when I'm at the store. I was in the middle of a project and realized I needed more wood screws next time I went to the hardware store. Normally that's the kind of thing I forget to write down, then completely blank on when I'm actually standing in the aisle. But now can send a text message to my personal AI assistant, so when I got to Lowes I just asked my bot what was on the hardware list. The thing about building your own tools is they work exactly how you need without some fancy new app. The concept is really simple. I text a message to my bot, and it figures out what I mean and updates the right Google spreadsheet. Shopping reminders go in one place. When I'm standing in a store, I just ask what's on my list for that type of store and it tells me. What I didn't expect was how natural it would feel to actually use it. I don't want another app. I just want to send a text message. This one stuck because the friction is basically zero. The thought comes into my head, I send a text, it's captured. And honestly? Building it was just fun. Still in that phase where something clicks and you feel unreasonably proud of yourself. If you've built something like this, I'd love to hear about it.

Great chatting with you all today! A lot of great questions and appreciate all the suggestions for practical ways to use AI. Here is the best tip of the day: "Talking to AI with my voice makes it so much easier to get it to do what I want. I just talk out loud what I am trying to do and it is getting way closer on the first shot"
