Welcome To Dyslexia Unlocked!
Hey everyone — I’m Ken, and I’m so glad you’re here! This is going to be great fun as we all get to know each other.Whether you’re here to quietly learn or to dive right in and connect, you’re in the right place. Before we get started, I want to walk you through how to make your very first post — your introduction. Don’t worry, it’s super simple (and you can’t break anything by clicking the wrong button!). 🧭 Step 1: Go to the Community Page Head over to the Community tab and click “Write something…” This is where you’ll post your short introduction. 🗣️ Step 2: What to Share in Your Intro Here’s what to include (keep it casual, no pressure, no perfect spelling needed!): 1. Your name and where you’re from Example: “I’m Ken from the UK.” 2. What you do for work, It doesn’t matter if you love it or hate it. 3. Your current mission or one of your core values Once you’ve written that, select General Discussion as the topic, and hit Post. Boom — you’re done ✅ 💡 Pro Tip If you’re unsure how to write your intro, you can ask ChatGPT to help.Just tell it what you’d like to include, and it’ll give you a draft you can tweak before posting. 💬 Step 3: Connect with Others After posting, check out what other members have written and leave a friendly comment or two. We’re all here to connect and support each other, that’s where the real magic of this community happens. 🧰 Step 4: Explore the Classroom You’ll find a 7-Day Quick Start Course designed to help you take action and get results fast. We’ll even do it live together the first time, so keep an eye out for that! There’ll also be new tools and resources focused on: - Using AI to make life and work easier - Building systems and processes that work with your dyslexic brain I’d love for you to share your first post so we can all get to know you. I’ll probably send you a message myself to say hi (you’ll find messages in the top bar).

Introduction - James, 54yo, UK
Hi, I’m James from the UK. Living with dyslexia, especially as a late diagnosee (at 51yo), has been both a challenge and a teacher—shaping how I think, feel, and create. I’ve struggled with slow processing, missed cues, and the pressure to adapt to systems that don’t reflect how my mind works. But through that struggle, I’ve discovered a deep sensitivity to patterns, symbols, and emotional texture. I’m training to be a therapist, and I want to work with young neurodivergent people, and help them find their voice and manage complexity. I’m definitely not here as an expert, but as someone still learning—grateful to connect with others who are navigating dyslexia with honesty, creativity, and care. Unfortunately, I have had to postpone the training at the midpoint after I struggled with the overwhelm of studying and lot of traumatic events including the death of my stepfather and the mother of my child being diagnosed with and treated for cancer. I am confident that what I am overcoming will benefit clients and community once I've gone through it.

James, this is such a powerful post. Thank you for sharing it with so much honesty. I can really relate to what you said about being “taught” by dyslexia. It forces us to develop depth, empathy, and creativity that can’t really be taught in books. I’m really sorry to hear about what you’ve been going through. I’ve got no doubt the people you’ll help in the future will benefit from everything you’re learning.
