Soft Hands, Steel Spine
“Soft Hands, Steel Spine” isn’t just a cute title. It’s a philosophy. It’s me crocheting lace while waiting to call the police. It’s planning a photoshoot while preparing for a legal fight. It’s blessing tzitzit with steady fingers while my nervous system is on fire. Soft hands are the part of me that creates. They hold yarn. They hold cameras. They hold my kids. They hold space for models. They blend oils and stitch garments and press “publish.” Steel spine is the part of me that refuses to bend when something is wrong. It’s the emails. The boundaries. The hard conversations. The decision to sue if you have to. The refusal to let antisemitism get swept under a rug because it’s inconvenient. How do you stay soft without becoming fragile? How do you become strong without becoming hard? A lot of people think you have to choose. Either you’re nurturing and gentle or you’re relentless and unshakable. But the women who build things, the ones who actually change systems, learn to hold both at once. I can crochet lace and draft legal strategy. I can photograph vulnerability and enforce boundaries. I can cry and still follow through. Where in your life are you cultivating soft hands? Where are you building a steel spine? And are they working together… or fighting each other?

Fridays
Friday is wins and receipts. Big wins, small wins, “I showed up” wins. Proof that something moved.

@Christopher Broadnax thank you!
How this coven works
Here’s how the Coven works. First: the purpose - Chimeric Coven is a practice space, not a performance space. People come here to: -reflect -create -be witnessed -experiment with becoming They are not here to be fixed, branded, optimized, or publicly impressive. Second: participation expectations - This is not “post every day or else.” That’s culty and exhausting. The rule is: -Presence over frequency -Honest over polished -Small contributions count Lurking is allowed. Vanishing without ever engaging is how people quietly opt out. That’s fine too. No guilt rituals. Third: how conversation works - This is where most communities implode, so we’re explicit. -Sharing is invited. Oversharing is self-regulated. -Advice is ONLY given when requested. -Witnessing counts as participation. You don’t have to solve anything. -No trauma dumping without context or consent. This is not group therapy. If someone posts something tender, the default response is reflection, not fixing. Fourth: the rhythm - The Coven runs on gentle structure, not chaos. -Weekly reflection prompt (same day every week) -Weekly Coven Circle (live) – Optional making or co-working sessions Fifth: leadership energy - Kendra is not the guru. She is the container holder. -She models depth first -She may not respond to everything -She will redirect gently when needed -She will protect the tone without over-explaining Sixth: confidentiality and trust - What’s shared in the Coven stays in the Coven. -No screenshots. -No retellings. -No “my friend from a group said…” nonsense. Trust is the product here Seventh: evolution - The Coven is allowed to change. Prompts shift. Rhythms adjust. People cycle in and out.That’s not failure. That’s alchemy doing its thing. Please initial once you've read these rules.

I create intentional spaces for women in the middle of becoming, where creativity, honesty, and transformation are practiced together.
