I seriously just stole this off Facebook. A guy in a group I'm in asked this question: "Why is it so difficult to find a partner who is into prepping and doesn't just think it's for fun?" I think this is a great question to start with - and because a guy asked it, I'll be the one to offer an answer. This is a concept I also struggle with. I live off grid about 10 miles down a dirt road. I am building my house from scratch using just my own two hand and the money I earn from every paycheck: a paycheck that's split between paying my truck, land, and camper off and the little debt I owe. I don't "date" because I'm 90 minutes from the closest town and driving down the dirt road for anything except lumber or water seems like a waste of the wear and tear I put on my truck. The "right woman" will be equally yoked with you, and able to appreciate you prepping for 'whatever may come (or not)'. If this is important to you, then overlooking all women who don't prep should be easy. But it's not. That's the thing. I get it....meeting the right person, who is into all the same things you're into can be extremely difficult. However, once you find him/her, it just feels right. Perhaps then the right question isn't why it is so difficult to find said partner, but where can said partner be found. Because I promise you, she's out there. There's a strong woman who is well educated in the prepping community who is looking for a man to share her life with. So maybe instead of asking why it's so hard to find her, you could consider introducing yourself into those communities (online is awesome) and see what you find. You may be blown away by the number of women who are wondering the same thing about their future male partner.
