I just received a nasty two-minute voice note on IG from someone calling Indians deceitful and racist. And you know what I did? I didn’t listen to it. I transcribed it instead because I didn’t want the energy of that person’s voice anywhere near my body, my mind, or my energy field. You don’t have to let everything in just because it’s sent to you. You don’t have to “be nice” or “hear people out” when the vibration is clearly meant to harm or destabilize you. Protecting your energy is not avoidance. It’s discernment. It’s saying, “I choose what gets access to my nervous system.” Because the truth is, your nervous system is not a dumping ground for other people’s unprocessed emotions. As you grow louder, clearer, and more visible, some people will not like you. They’ll misunderstand you, project onto you, and try to make you the container for their discomfort. That’s not your problem to fix. You are not responsible for other people’s reactions to your truth, your culture, your tone, or your presence. Stop consuming things that make you feel like shit. Stop giving attention to energy that lowers your frequency. You get to decide what you let in, and what you leave out. That is not spiritual bypassing, that is nervous system regulation. It’s how you stay in your power. The lesson here is simple. You can be visible and boundaried. You can speak truth and stay grounded. You can stay open-hearted without being wide open to everything. You can move through the world with love and still say, “Not this energy. Not today.” That’s not weakness. That’s mastery. That’s how you keep your peace intact while you lead. ✨ Reflection Prompt: Where have you been letting unwanted energy in through people, content, or conversations, that your nervous system didn’t consent to? What would it look like to protect your energy like it’s sacred this week?
