MailerLite is what I personally use, and from memory their free plan covers up to 500 subscribers, so it’s a really great starting point for small businesses. So glad you enjoyed the live training! A quick breakdown from my experience: Google Mail / Google WorkspaceYou can add as many links as you like throughout your emails, and you can also use mail merge style features to personalise emails with things like “Hi @firstname”. One really cool feature now is that you can design your email beautifully in Canva and export it directly into Gmail. This makes the visual side super easy. The downside at the moment is that Gmail itself doesn’t provide detailed email marketing analytics like open rates, click rates, campaign performance, etc. Unless you use a third-party tool or extension, you’ll generally only see things like replies or unsubscribes. I do think Google will improve this functionality over time. Square Marketing, Yes, Square does have an email marketing option built in. Personally, I found it a little clunky from a design and database management perspective. I often ended up designing graphics in Canva separately and then inserting them manually. I also found managing contacts and forms a bit confusing at times, especially when trying to search, filter, or export customer data depending on how they had submitted forms or interacted with the business. Overall, I found MailerLite the most user-friendly overall. It’s simple to learn, visually clean, easy to automate, and gives you proper reporting like opens, clicks, subscriber growth, automations, and campaign performance, which is really helpful as your business grows.
