5 contributions to Jane Austen/ Pride & Prejudice
"The Other Bennet Sister" series
This new series is a "Pride & Prejudice" variation from Mary's point of view- it barely came to the USA (you have to get a "Britbox" subscription through your Amazon Prime movie service) then the first 3 episodes are on, with a new episode releasing each week until 10 episodes. I am SO enjoying it so far! It is funny, heartwarming, and some of the characters you will love to hate! Such a fun way to get more of the characters we know and love. Has anyone else watched this? @Natalie Darger Yes mam! I use Pride and Prejudice as a kind of escape I think. A mini vacation from the day. A moment to rest to get lost in something that helps my mind be still and reset.

@Natalie Darger Yes, and the plot is so enjoyable. There is something about it and all the characters. It is my go to.

@Natalie Darger It will be there for you when you need it. ❤️ I have purchased the series on Apple. You don’t need a subscription to open up a movie on Apple, so it’s always there. ❤️
NEW OPENING
Hi! This is a group I created for fun a bit ago but barely opened today! We can make it a fun place and help shape it into whatever we want. I hope it can bring a smile to everyone's face. I usually always have some form of Jane Austen going on- watching the movies, reading a JA novel (or JAFF continuation) or listening to the audiobooks. How do you guys like to include a little Jane Austen in your lives?

@Natalie Darger LOL I want my grand daughter to watch it, but so far she's not interested. She's 11. She sees how often I have it on and thinks I'm totally weird.

@Natalie Darger Maybe. I think her seeing it on in my life for so many years when she was too young to be interested it became a habit to just not like it. You might be right though! Maybe it will be a way to get her hooked LOL
New Netflix Pride and Prejudice Movie
Hi, I decided I would post more in here more often as word spreads and this group finally starts to grow. Have you heard about the NEW Pride & Prejudice series coming to Netflix later in 2026? What is your opinion? (And do you love the 1995 series or the 2005 Keira Knightly film best?) Personally I like to watch both versions when I am in different moods. I think I will appreciate this new version too; the lead actors do not look how I envisioned them looking but I will try to keep an open mind.

- Have you heard about the NEW Pride & Prejudice series coming to Netflix later in 2026? YES AND I CAN'T WAIT! - What is your opinion? I hope I love it, I hope they don't butcher it or try to make it politically correct. But really look forward to watching it. - (And do you love the 1995 series or the 2005 Keira Knightly film best?) I love them both honestly, and it depends on my mood which one I go to to watch again. I wish that in both versions they cast Mrs Bennet differently. More like Cora on Downton Abbey (the mother) Also in the 1995 version I didn't see Jane as such a beauty. Attractive woman of course, but not striking as she's described. Her acting was amazing and character was perfect. But she's supposed to be such a beauty. In 2005 version, I think they nailed it. Personally I like to watch both versions when I am in different moods. Yup, I wrote the same thing... I think I will appreciate this new version too; the lead actors do not look how I envisioned them looking but I will try to keep an open mind. Same

@Natalie Darger Yes, you're right about the different vlaues of appearance based on the century. So it might be true that everything about that Jane was perfect for that era. I guess we can go back and forth on how she should be portrayed true to the time of for the audience that watches.
WELCOME to this "all things Jane Austen" community!
Please introduce yourself! I am so happy to meet fellow JA fans... I am not quite sure what this group will evolve to be, except a fun place- a bright spot to pop into! I am sure as we grow we will naturally make this group even more wonderful. Please say hi in the comments and share: Why you joined and your favorite thing about Jane Austen's books/ time/ etc.
