Last Friday, I talked about the impact just 15 minutes of stepping back from the noise of modern life can make on our nervous system. This is important not only because we feel like we can breathe deeply again, but because when the noise quiets, we start noticing things we might have missed otherwise. I talk a lot about slow living, but slow living isn't really the point or "the fun part." 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬: 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭? Instead of “15-Minute Fridays” I’d like to reframe our conversation to what we’re gathering “Along the Way.” This does *not* need to be earth-shattering. :) I'd love to hear about what you're noticing, thinking about, or questioning during your week. What’s a line that stood out from something you read? What was something funny you saw this week that makes you smile when you think back on it? Was there something you noticed on a recent wander that sparked your curiosity? In the Summer of Joy email series, I've also talked about "Firefly Moments,” or those tiny personal moments that are beautiful and could slip away so easily if we aren't present to attend to them. I'd love to hear about those from time to time too if you have one you'd be willing to share. So whether it's 15 minutes or 5 when you pause long enough for the noise to clear and you start hearing those beautiful birds once again, I'd love to know what thoughts and moments have stood out to you along the way. Sincerely, Amanda
