Hi from Fi 👋
Hi everyone, I’m Fi and I live in Winchester, UK. I’ve known Kate for years and am part of the CC team helping with comms etc. I learnt to sew when I was about 8 or 9 because I was in a junk / vintage shop with my parents, saw an old Victorian hand sewing machine and decided it was so beautiful it had to be mine! It was £10! I used to make very scrappy little patchwork pin cushions with it and think they were amazing 😆 Since then my skills have not progressed much 😆 so I’m still a beginner and learning alongside all of you. My favourite bit of the classes is actually the styling - I find it fascinating how you can make a few adjustments that completely change the way your clothes look, and how you feel in them. It’s going to be so great to see all your feedback and hear your opinions so we can make classes you love. Thanks so much for doing this. Have fun with the twilly - can’t wait to see your photos!

My history with Fi goes a LONG way back - all the way to when we were neighbours at 12 and I styled her in a full Tricolor ensemble 🇫🇷 for her first French Exhange. 🙊 We both have vivid memories of this occasion, potentially for different reasons. Needless to say, Fi is an EXCELLENT sport and I’m very excited to see what she’ll be cutting up to create her twilly - and how she’ll be styling it! I’m watching you Fi 👁️👁️. Let’s see if you’ve been paying attention…

Hey everyone – I’m Martin.
I’m here to help CONVERTED CLOSET bring this course to life in the best possible way. My background is in video production and advertising — and even though I know absolutely nothing about sewing, I did sew a button on my jacket the other day… my proudest project so far 😂 (Proof on the photo) I would like to help make this course create as much value as possible for all of you. Thanks for being part of the tester group — your feedback is pure gold for someone like me 🙏
Hey everyone – I’m Martin.

I am very here for this!!! Love love love as a – so much cooler and infinitely easier to wear! I really love the shape of it as a top. One of my favourite things about converting is the originality comes from co creating with the original designer of a piece. Shapes and styles you could never have even dreamed of just emerge when you just play with what you’ve already got. This is a classic triumph! How do you feel about it, Michelle?
Hi, I'm Debla...
I'm from Miami, FL. -- just catching up and yet still behind on the twilly thing. I've been following Kate/CC for years on IG and am very happy and excited to be participating in this group. A marketing professional turned stay-at-home mom 25 years ago, I've sewn and tinkered on lots of things over the years... from costumes to many small sewing repairs. My daughters keeps me on my toes with projects that range from sizing down evening/prom gowns (she's an xxs) to creating a castanet case with left-over upholstery fabric (spanish dance lessons) and more recently a conversion that was challenging (for me) and actually turned out well (ie: she wears it out, LOL) -- converted a boys RL dress shirt into a strapless, fold-over, buttoned-up-back top. I'm not even sure how we did that... but we did. I've always embraced a reduce/reuse/repurpose mindset and I'm excited at this opportunity. Thank you Kate and CC team. :) PS: Twilly attempt & results to be posted soon...

Before & after
Hello everyone, it’s been great catching up on what everyone has been making. I’ve been spending some time on mine over the weekend and am posting a video to show the before and after. As usual when it comes to sewing I have gone off on one and ended up making it more complicated than it needs to be 😂 but I’m pleased with the result. Just on the look out for a couple of little Pom Pom’s now 👀

This brilliance. The video is so great – just when you think you couldn’t possibly be more impressed, another rabbit gets pulled out of the hat.- “it’s reversible”. It’s very VERY good. I love the way you’ve used the pattern on the arms - properly edgy. Do you think having a matching twilly elevates it to new heights?? Yes -I’m fully aware that’s a leading question – but look at it on you!!! I am obsessed with the light padding too. I’m a bit bonkers about quilted everything. This is just 🤌. I hope you’re delighted with yourself!!!
