Explaining an Autism Diagnosis to your child
When my son was first diagnosed with autism at age 3 I worried about how I would tell him about his diagnosis as he got a little older... I looked for books in the library and Amazon, I couldn't find anything that really worked, most books were either for other neurotypical children explaining what autism was or it was about a character with autism. So I created this picture book to explain an autism diagnosis to a child who has autism. If you're looking for something similar please feel free to download it for FREE here: https://functionalautism.com/your-brain-works-differently-and-thats-okay

Thanks! Maybe this will help me explain it better to his twin sister. She thinks it makes him her little brother.
Leucovorin for ASD
There is a section in the course that covers Leucovorin (Folinic acid) as an "off-label" intervention for autism symptoms more specifically speech. However based on observation in treating patients in my own practice I've seen it improve social reciprocity as well. I recently came across a study done in China recently that echos this finding. I wanted to include it here: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12073535/ Those who have used Folinic acid or leucovorin with their child have you noticed this as well?

My 5 year old son has been on Leucovorin about 11 days. It's improved some behaviors. He will be still and let me cut his hair (even smile about it), he lets me cut his finger/toenails. Previously he would cry, yell, scream, hit until I stopped. He will now wear his backpack, he will take pills, drink almond milk. Those are things he wouldn't do at all before. He is saying more vowels and making more sounds, no words. Just going to keep thinking positive and see what happens next.
