I’ve spent YEARS getting better at managing my time and my mind. My energy, though? Still a work in progress. 😆 And lately I’ve realised that managing my energy can matter just as much as managing the hours in my day. So, in honour of the weekend, here are 5 things I’m a little obsessed with right now: 1️⃣ A weekly 24-hour-ish digital detox Mine is roughly 12/1pm Saturday → 8/9am Sunday. And by 24 hours, I mean… usually 20. 😂 - No socials. - No emails. - No random checking. And honestly? It's GLORIOUS. I ONLY recommend it if you want to come back to work fresh, focused and full of energy! 2️⃣ No scrolling in bed. EVER. - No social media. - No email. - No “I’ll just quickly check my clients on WhatsApp…” I’m also trying to eliminate those mindless little phone checks during the day — standing in line, waiting for something, filling 30 spare seconds. ⏰ I allow myself 10 minutes of timed scrolling and, surprisingly, it’s enough! Because even if you’re disciplined during work hours, those constant little check-ins can make you feel like you’re always ON. 3️⃣ Being MUCH more protective of where my energy goes Especially when something annoys me. 😅 You know those tiny things that really shouldn't bother you THAT much… and yet somehow they DO? My current three-question circuit breaker: 👉 How’s getting annoyed working for you? Spoiler: NOT WELL. 😂 👉 What’s actually within your control? My response. ONLY my response. 👉 What would it take to stop giving this so much energy? This one has been huge for me. I decided once that I do not want to be at the mercy of other people’s actions. I want to be calm and clear. 💚 I want my energy going towards the people, animals, work and things I care deeply about. So every time I respond differently, I'm collecting evidence for a new belief: “I’m a person who doesn’t give silly things my precious energy.” Still practising. Definitely improving. 4️⃣ Knowing the ONE thing that makes today a win Yes, I plan my days carefully.
