On Skool News today they announced that you can now start a new community for only $9 a month! Amazing, right?! You can see it on the pricing page here. But here is what you need to know. I downgraded a community to show you what it looks like. (All pictures included, so if you're on a phone.. swipe!) You lose: Custom URL All the links that originally posted somewhere will FAIL (go change them) Transaction fees go from 2.9% to 10% Suggested groups will show on side bar You only get 1 admin/moderator (YOU the owner) You lose access to PRO plugins You lose access to affiliates Your cover photo will have a powered by Skool banner Before you can downgrade, you may need to do a few tasks like: If you have a moderator or admin, you will have to downgrade them. Turn off the pro plugins. Turn off affiliates. If someone starts a Skool community from your $9/m community, you won't be auto given the affiliate. You can still get them as an affiliate, if you give them your affiliate link. IF you have people that had a community as an affiliate underneath you, then you will still get a commission for a $9/m community if they downgrade. If someone starts as a $9/m community and they upgrade, you'll get the upgraded affiliate amount. Who are you bringing to Skool? Are you starting a $9/m community?

Huge thank you to everyone who came to yesterday’s Connection Call. The questions from @Brennan Thompson and @Matthew Burns opened up real conversations and gave everyone a chance to show up as themselves. Some of the things people brought up had me reflecting long after the call ended. “Every Second Counts” was brought up by Brennan, and it really stuck with me. I also added The Bear to my watch list. Matt shared his current obsession with understanding trust, which got me thinking more about what actually builds trust and how people decide who to follow or buy from. Plus, how it changes over time. It's a lot different now than just a couple years ago. Hearing everyone share made it feel less like a Zoom call and more like a real room full of people who get it. Conversations like that are what make it a true community. It’s not just one person talking at everyone. It’s talking, listening, and realizing you’re not doing this alone. There was a moment during the call when I wanted to share a book recommendation, but I had to jump to another call. It’s one that @Marianne Suarez Sabugo and @William Renner mentioned during her Sunday Power Hour, and it stuck with me. I downloaded Essentialism on Audible, and yeah… this one is a must-listen for entrepreneurs. If you're trying to actually enjoy your life while building something meaningful, you need to hear it. Sam Ovens recommended it too. It’s about doing less but doing it better. After hearing everyone talk about urgency, simplifying life, and what really matters, this book felt even more timely. If you want a community where people stay, connect, and buy… this is where it starts. I really believe in the message of this video, so much so that I made this the first video in every community I own, so every owner, admin, and support role will have this vital information. So before you worry about loads of content in the classrooms or sales tactics, you need this in place first. It’s simple, but most people overlook it. And when they do, their community never really takes off. Watch this first. Use it to shape how you build and lead your community. What do people know you for? If someone needed what you offer, would your name come to mind? If you are not putting content out there, people will not just forget about you... They will not think of you when they hear someone else needs what you do. You can be the best at what you do, but if you are not visible, someone less qualified but louder will get the clients. 🤷‍♀️ Show up. Share your message. Repeat it until people can explain what you do. Are you making it easy for people to remember and refer you?
