🎉 It’s Launch Day! 🎉
Huge congrats to Book Launchers author Nicole Johnston on the release of the second edition of TABOO TOPICS! 🎉 This one got a bold refresh with a new cover and updates that really lean into the heart of the book: having the conversations most people avoid, but probably shouldn’t. If you’ve read the first edition, this is a great time to revisit it. If you haven’t yet, now’s your chance. ➡️ Grab your copy and support Nicole here.

Title Help
How big of a deal is it to pick a title that is already used by a few other books? These other books are not wildly popular. I am writing a book about digital addiction and how to help your child. The title I might use is Left to Their Own Devices: Six evidence-based approaches to help your screen-addicted child. The other books have different subtitles from mine. If that is a really bad idea, what about this title Screen Time Rescue: Understanding Your Child's Digital Addiction and How to Help Their Brain.

Typically, if the main title has been used, I usually steer clear, even if the subtitle is distinct. It can get muddy for search and make it harder for your book to stand out.
What would make YOU pick up a biography about an ordinary person?
Do you buy books by perusing the actual/digital bookshelves or do you go there knowing exactly what title you want to buy?

I’d pick up a biography about an “ordinary” person if there’s something interesting about their story, like they went through something intense, built something cool, or learned something I can actually take away. And I’m both as well. I sometimes go in knowing exactly what I want, but I also browse a lot. Covers, titles, and the book description definitely influence me.
