@Maria Le 💛 Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. Thank you for sharing your story and heart with us. Your years of experience, your roots, and the vision you carry for children without stable access to education are incredibly meaningful. The way you describe education as culture, care, and connection resonates deeply with what this space is meant to be. I love that Koru lives not just as a project, but as a spirit and intention — and that you’re creating space for reflection and conscious decision-making for adults who support children. That feels so aligned here. You are very welcome in this community — whether you’re sharing wisdom, observing, learning, or simply being present. Every role matters, and your perspective adds so much richness already. I’m really glad you found your way here, and I’m looking forward to growing alongside you 💛

@Mary Mapel I love that our paths first crossed through VIPKid, and it means so much to have you in this space now — especially knowing the homeschooling and unschooling journey you walked with Gabriel. Raising a child K–12 through unschooling and seeing him now thriving as a park ranger in Yellowstone is such a powerful testament to trusting the process. And that fun fact… being caught in the middle of a bear fight while camping in Shenandoah — that definitely wins the “life experience” award 🐻😄 Your wisdom, lived experience, and grounded perspective are such a gift to this community. Whether you feel like sharing, reflecting, or simply being present, you belong here. I know so many of us can learn from the path you’ve walked. I’m really grateful you joined us 💛
🌿 Gentle routine reminder
If routines feel hard right now, try changing just one small piece instead of the whole day. One board. One transition. One moment. Small shifts often bring the biggest calm. ❤️

This is something I remind myself of often too 💛 One small change can really shift the whole day.
Grand Teton National Park offers virtual classroom experiences.
There are some great natural resources virtual learning experiences through our national parks. Grand Tetons National Park is excited to bring back their Snow Desk for a fun, interactive virtual learning experience for your K–5 students! Park rangers broadcast LIVE to classrooms from a desk made entirely of snow at the base of the Teton Range. Rangers will talk with your students about animal adaptations, snow science, the water cycle, and more. Surviving Winter (Grades K–3) Explore how animals in Grand Teton change how they look, where they live, and what they eat to survive winter. Every Snowflake Counts (Grades 3–5) Learn why snow matters, how it fits into the water cycle, and how you can conserve precious water resources. Oh I saw you had posted this one! Man I wish I had these resources when I was in the classroom!
The Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, MT offers virtual classes and hands-on learning crates.
My husband and I just got back from visiting our son, who works at Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park. While in Montana, we checked out this museum. It offers fun virtual classes and curiosity crates to help your family, classroom, or homeschool student learn about natural history. What a great way to explore this region! As a former homeschool mom, these kinds of programs were so helpful in rounding out Gabriel's education and exploration of nature. https://museumoftherockies.org/virtual-programs?fbclid=IwY2xjawO_8wlleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEefebRWYNDKlBGjABE-7SBiwg64b4tZuX5nAcc9zrz0wRNgppy9nPn7OemPoI_aem_et-NLoA9QaXj1Sh7hxJFtw

National Park Internships and Volunteer Opportunities
My son Gabriel volunteered in Shenandoah National Park for 3 years, and his experience led him to his career in the park service. This opportunity is an excellent way for young people to gain valuable work experience while working outdoors and learning about the national park system. https://www.nps.gov/subjects/youthprograms/jobs-and-internships.htm
