4 Lessons I've Learned After 4 Years of Self Publishing
Today marks my 4-year anniversary of being a self-published Children's Book Author. I had so many high hopes for where this journey would take me, but I would never have guessed it would become my full-time job so quickly! In this new video, I share the top 4 things I have learned over the past 4 years (you probably won't guess what I'm gonna say). I hope you enjoy it and it helps or inspires you on this crazy road that we call self-publishing children's books! Watch it Here 👇 https://youtu.be/KqdpkipwQC8?si=2VUBFOQANwGuMbsA

Happy Anniversary!!! 🥳
What’s your biggest struggle?
I’m curious, what would you say has been your biggest struggle when it comes to children children’s book publishing? And have you overcome it yet? I know all of our strengths and weaknesses are different, so I’m curious to see what your response will be 👀

Hardest part has been consistent books sales. Getting new followers on social media but they don't often convert to sales or reviews. Tried your freebie idea to get people to my website but that has not taken off yet either. So maybe for me its finding that perfect mix of what my followers want?

@Casey Mcquiston By leads do you mean freebies?
Instagram Author Connection Thread!
Let’s support each other as children’s book authors and actually connect in a meaningful way. 1️⃣ Comment your Instagram link below (Just drop the link to your profile) 2️⃣ Scroll through the comments and check out other authors’ accounts 3️⃣ Follow, like, or comment on accounts you genuinely enjoy or feel drawn to No pressure to follow everyone, support who you connect with! This is not a follow-for-follow thread. This is about building real relationships, cheering each other on, and finding fellow authors you actually want to stay connected with. Take a minute to support someone else before you hop out! Authors supporting authors always wins 💪

Hello and so great to be here with all of you! 🤗 I have published two children's books so far. Clark the Mountain Beaver and His Big Adventure! was self-published 10 years ago and was my first introduction into the literary world. It was quite the learning process! My second book, A Bug-Lightful Discovery, was published July 2024 using a hybrid publishing company which made the process sooooo much easier. I am currently working on editing Clark the Mountain Beaver to release as a second edition in celebration of his 10th Anniversary and look to launch it in November of this year. 🥳

@Deb Hockenberry Hello Deb! I the hybrid publisher was not cheap but they provided a road map from start to finish that was super helpful. Plus they have a whole team in place to support the publishing process from start to finish. I was able to pick my own illustrator which was important to me but that was an additional cost as well. I used Miraim Laundry Publishing (https://miriamlaundry.com). She is based in Canada. She also offers a great Children's Book Master Class with all the resources you need to do it yourself. It's worth checking out!
