ScrumBuddies Family....I need your help
As you all know, I am transitioning to this industry. As I was trying to figure out where I wanted to transition to, I took some courses. One of the courses I took that I enjoyed and felt like a good fit was Scrum Master. I took an CSM course and have my certificate. I now have an opportunity to get my SAFe SSM 6.0 Certification. Should I take it? Does it matter the organization or company? If so, where is a good place? What do I need to know?

@Duane Hill Thank you for the question. I know there are always SAFe classes. Is this a beneficial certificate to get? I'm not about getting a bunch of certifications. I did listen to the talk. :-) I am still applying for jobs and I have way over 100 rejections thus far. :-)

@Duane Hill thank you
I need some encouragement....
I'm new to sharing outside of my small circle. In my effort to expand my friend circle, one must be vulnerable. :-) I want another job. I want and deserve more money. I know that I would be a great Scrum Master and/or Project Management/Business Analyst. To be honest, I am not and have never been a corporate kind of girl; therefore, the thought of this whole job search with my new resume (πŸ™‚ with the help of Duane πŸ™‚) is unappealing. And needing to do interviews....yuck!!! I'm more of a free-spirit and want to be my own boss. I've had some success in my side business with proof of concept via some sales. I put that business on hold to focus on this new journey, and the sales were not consistent for growth. This new job title will be a career change. I have soft skills and transferable skills; however, I know that I need some training for hard skills. I know that this is a no-brainer; however, I would like an unbiased opinion. Financially, I can use a nice boost of income to take some of the outstanding debt, build some cushion, and move forward. We all know that when we want something truly, we will work our finances to make it happen. In saying all of this, should I focus my financial efforts on getting this training that will provide me with hands-on training? This training program will give me a project to add to my resume and give me real-world examples to talk about in interviews. Or should I focus my efforts on clearing things up to start (fund) my bookkeeping (actually it is more of a tax planning/tax advisory/CFO advisory) service first, then get back to finding a new career in this new space? Thoughts?

@Duane Hill I'm not 100% sure. I know some of the intangibles that I want and I know what I'm good at; however, I don' t know how that shows up for me. I'm not scared of the work it takes for either direction. I just need to pray more for direction and guidance.

@Duane Hill I wanted to come back and give an update on this post. I have been giving it a lot of thought. I have looked at training courses to get some experience to put on my resume. I have decided between 2 courses; however, I am going to wait to make the transition. I have some financial things to work on and I'm not in a huge rush to leave my job. I will revisit this after the 1st of the year. I will be in a better financial place then. At that time, I am going to make a decision on whether I am going to get more training on Scrum (both here in this group and in another online course) or if I am going to start my tax business first. My heart keeps pulling me towards my tax strategy business first. πŸ™‚ Thank you for asking that crucial question and for giving me the space to express myself. πŸ™‚
Networking 1on 1
Good afternoon everyone, I wanted to share a minor win today. I connected with a VP on LinkedIn and sent my usual introductory message. She replied the same day, expressing interest in my profile for a remote SAFe Scrum Master position and asked for my resume. I promptly sent it over, and she responded positively, saying she would have her recruiter contact me. The recruiter reached out shortly after and is already working to set up an interview with the Development Director. I want to encourage everyone to keep networking consistently. This may not be my final stop, but you never know if this message is meant for you. Keep pushing forward and have a blessed day.

Way to go!!! I needed to hear that. I'm not great at networking. It is something I must learn to master. I'm positive that you will ace that interview and get that job!
Question
Hello! Are there any buddies willing to relocate to Bentonville, AR for a Scrum Master role?

Oh wow!!! Thank you for sharing this opportunity for to the group. :-)
We will be removing inactive buddies.
As much as i love everyone being able to come in and join with us, This platform is built for YOU to interact. It does you no good to be in a community of practice that encourages others to sit back. But as you know, the less you do the less you will get in this scrum world. With that being said. ALL users that have not been active and are still at level one will be removed from the group. That way this community can serve its true audience. If you end up etting removed you can reapply to be in the group again but at the current price. I understand timing and life. So know there is no hard feelings and you will all have the opportunity to rejoin. All the Best- Duane

I am a good listener, supportive friend, and life-long learner. I work in local government. I can't wait to become a Scrum Master.
