The platform isn’t the destination
Most people think the goal is to escape the platform. But I think the real opportunity is to use the platform. To learn. To observe. To build skills. To understand customers. To test ideas. That’s how things grow. The platform isn’t the destination. It’s the soil. What you grow from it is up to you. What’s one skill you’ve developed from gig work that people underestimate?
4,350 rides taught me something most drivers miss
After more than 4,350 rides, I realized something most drivers never think about. Every passenger gets in the car because they have a problem. They need: • to get somewhere safely • to save time• to avoid parking • to avoid driving themselves • or just to get through their day easier Once I started seeing rides this way, everything changed. I stopped thinking of myself as a driver. I started thinking of myself as someone solving problems. That shift eventually led me to building Madame Black. It also led to this idea: The platform is the soil. What you grow from it depends on how you see it. Have you ever had a moment on the platform that changed how you see the work?

What platform are you using right now?
Quick roll call. What platform are you currently using? 🚗 Rideshare🍔 Delivery💻 Freelance📦 Something else And one more question… Do you see it as: A) just a gig B) temporary income C) a platform you might build something from No wrong answers here. I'm curious where everyone is starting.

Welcome to Platform to Freedom.
This community started from a realization I had after thousands of rides working in the rideshare industry. Most people think platforms like Lyft, DoorDash, Upwork, and others are just gigs. Temporary work. Something you do until you find something “better.” But one day I said something by accident that changed how I see it. The platform is the soil. And what grows from that soil depends on how you use it. From the rideshare platform I grew: • experience • relationships • customer service skills • a business idea • and eventually my company, Madame Black That's when I realized something important: We don’t work for the platform. We grow through it. This community is for people who want to see their platform differently. Drivers.Deliverers.Freelancers.Anyone building something while using a platform.
