Should I include a JP Morgan online course on my CV / Cover Letter for IB Spring Week Applications?
I am considering mentioning the completion of a JP Morgan IB course on my CV for Spring Week (IB) applications after relevant in person work experience, another activity for the experience section (hoping to have 3 experiences in total, lmk if this is too much). I've heard people online recommending this and others saying somebody shouldn't do this as it's essentially wasted space according to them, so is this a good idea or not to gain offers? At the very least, if it is not suitable for a CV, is it suitable for a cover letter when applying to JP Morgan since it is a JP Morgan specific course?

@Hassan Akram I actually completely agree with Hassan! The Forage course that I think you are referring to would definitely be a good addition to both your CV and your Cover Letter. While this experience is open to everyone the experience still does highlight skills in deep financial analysis because in this experience we are building a discounted cash flow model and this financial modelling is therefore a key element of what an analyst does in IB and so demonstrating an understanding of these concepts would definitely be very useful. Also just for some transparency I am a 1-1 client with Hassan and I submitted my CV and Cover Letter for the J.P. Morgan Spring Week and I included this online investment banking internship on both my CV and Cover Letter and I was able to pass the CV + CL stage and did the hirevue and so I would definitely agree with Hassan and put this experience down. Like Hassan consistently reiterates we want to build a narrative to show we are passionate about investment banking and at the very least this course highlights that we are interested in deep financial analysis which is crucial to excel in IB. I hope this helps!

@Aaron Kunje Hi, to be honest, I became a client a few years ago when Hassan and City Careers Coach’s operations were considerably smaller. I’ve had a few sessions with Hassan recently to help with my Spring Week preparation, and from these calls, I can see firsthand just how busy he is. He now turns down quite a few client requests simply because of his workload. That said, I’m sure if you speak to him directly, you may be able to secure 1-1 coaching. I honestly couldn’t recommend him more highly! @Hassan Akram I hope I’ve covered everything and answered the question well!
