If you've followed me for any length of time, you know that I love all things mushroom 🍄 and have taught many workshops on the Marveleous Fun-guy lol! From foraging, identifying, tinctures, teas, to medicinal, culinary, physchedelic/psylicybin therapy, double extractions- the works! Today after our big rains, the woods were alive with mushrooms. One of my finds was this rare, culinary delight- The Lobster Mushroom! I've never stumbled across her before! Did you know that the Lobster Mushroom is the result of a parasitic fungus that attacks and transforms certain host mushrooms into an orangish red crust? I guess it has a mild, nutty, earthy, and sometimes slightly sweet flavor with a firm, dense, and crunchy texture. Espo (our local mushroom expert) says that if I saute them in butter and then saute eggs in the same butter afterwards, that the eggs will turn purple? I'll let you all know how they turn out!
