Our starting place…
I want life with Yvie to be calm and enjoyable, where she feels comfortable alone and relaxed when we have visitors.

@Nath Morrison we have made a big improvement on her over excitement when her daddy comes home. She used to sit by the front door waiting, then jump all over him, crying and squeaking a toy in her mouth. Now, I put her on place prior to his arrival so she is calm. She is expected to stay on place while he comes in, unloads etc. I have her on the leash and don’t let her off place until she is calm and then she greets him (her favourite). No more jumping and over excitement! I’m looking forward to her staying on place by herself but I think that will be a while yet. Happy with this progress so far.

@Maria Sirianni oh no Maria it’s so frustrating! I think it means, at home, all the hard work is up to us but luckily we are getting support, education and feedback thanks to everyone at Walky’s.
Funny one for today!

@Lex Stephens it’s the year of big birthdays in our family so the bank account isn’t feeling too lucky 🤣😂

@Lex Stephens 8 kids AND Christmas in between?! You’re a superhero 😂 Ours are mostly July — except one two days after Christmas and that’s hard enough!”

My #1 wish would be for Yvie to be fine being left home alone. It would change our lives!

Yvie sits in the back seat with a seatbelt attachment onto her harness. The seat cover usually covers the back rest as well. I don’t know why it was folded over 🤷‍♀️

Hi, I’m Kami 👋 I share a 4-year-old Spoodle named Yvie with my husband, David. She’s calm, gentle, and a bit stubborn… until someone walks past our house or triggers the Ring camera—then she transforms into a ferocious guard dog. She has major separation anxiety, can’t be left alone, and is obsessed with my husband (who somehow spends the least time with her). If she’s not attached to him all weekend, she sits at the front door crying and howling like she’s been abandoned. We’ve just started Walky’s and I’m seeing a small improvement—so fingers crossed 🤞🐾
