Rest
When do you stop, breathe, and refresh? When you think of rest, what comes to mind?Maybe it’s sitting in a chair with your feet up and zoning out.Maybe it’s a vacation or doing something you love — something that restores you. Rest isn’t optional. It’s essential for training and performing your best in BMX racing. It’s easy to think of training as only doing the work: push-ups, squats, sprints, gym time, track laps. But even if you do all of that, you can still hit a wall. Usually, it comes down to two things: 1. You’re not training the right energy system in your body. 2. You’re not getting the right amount of rest between efforts. BMX is a high-intensity, high-power sport. Every time you push from 0–120 seconds, you burn through your short-term energy reserves. A lap rarely lasts more than 60 seconds — but you still need to refill the tank before your next effort. How to Refuel and Recover: - Hydrate. Water first. Electrolyte drinks can help, but they don’t replace hydration. - Breathe. Stop and focus on your breathing for 3–5 minutes after each hard effort. - Move lightly. A slow spin or walk for 5 minutes helps your body refill its energy stores. - Snack smart. Go for oranges, bananas, carrots — simple, clean fuel for recovery. And maybe most importantly — take a break. Talk with friends, grab some water, think about your next effort.Always aim for quality over quantity. How do you rest between efforts? What’s one thing you’ll do differently next time you train?

2-3 days prior I shoot for around 50g over whatever I ate for the day in carbs, i like pastas, lentils, or even just carb powder which is really easy because it has no taste and you just add it to water and have it with your meal, you will feel bloated because your retaining more water which is also not an bad thing. I don’t like eating foods on race days because I feel to “full” that’s why stick to little candy’s

@Melvin Gildow thank you for your service, I’m 38 and still active duty Air Force and I do agree with that strategy, key is to not take in tooooobmany carbs because you will store most of them, I go for quick burning carbs utilized instantly and fast digesting
Greatest Race On Earth Track Fly Over
Check out the Grand National track for 2025 and think about how you would ride this or how you would instruct your riders to position themselves on this track. Click the link below to see the video 👇 https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1H55R1tzVX/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Grands meet up/network
whoever is going to grands wanna meet up? Talk shop and track strategy and expand the BASIC community?!
How would you do this?
When you race the same track all the time you know how you are going to ride it. When you start to ride new tracks you learn very quick that not all tracks are built the same. You will either love it or hate it. As new and amateur riders we don’t show up to tracks days early to practice and learn the track. We show up on race day and get a few laps in during a really crowded practice time. We get a feel for the gate and how the track rides. Then we wait until it’s our turn to race. While I have never been to Grands or any indoor national race one thing I know that I like about these tracks is that everyone gets the same amount of time on the track. Nobody has a home track advantage. So, how do we prepare for a race on a track that we are not familiar with or have never ridden before? What decisions do you need to make before you even step foot on the track? How would you race this years Grands track just based of a picture? We will discuss this Sunday night at 6pm in the live group training. See you there!
How would you do this?

Hole shot, hole shot, hole shot, and don’t be afraid to own your space in the turns!
Who is going to Grands?
We have less than 4 weeks before the Greatest Race On Earth! Although I will not be going to Grands, who of you are going? What are you doing to prepare for the races and the whole experience? What are your expectations and hopes during this adventure? Who are you looking forward to meeting while you are there?
