Welcome to the Peace & Grease Community
This is a private community for builders, artists, gearheads, and creatives who believe in doing real work with their hands — and doing it with purpose. Inside, you’ll find project builds, shop talk, behind-the-scenes content from Peace and Grease, interviews, historical deep dives, and conversations around faith, craftsmanship, and car culture. This isn’t about perfection or flexing. It’s about learning, sharing knowledge, encouraging each other, and keeping traditional garage culture alive for the next generation. Whether you’re building a hot rod in your home garage, sketching ideas at the kitchen table, or just here to learn — you’re welcome. Please Introduce yourself. Where are you from? What do you drive? What are you building? What is you current art project? Share anything that involves the hot rod community.

Hi guys, my name is Justin and I own a 1976 GMC Crew Cab with a 455 Big Block Rocket Oldsmobile. Next on the list is a 51 Ford F1 truck that my dad owned when he was young which will be Flathead V8 power--an engine you can spend the most amount of money on for the least amount of horsepower, but nothing tops the cool factor of a Flathead V8. I also collect and restore vintage Polaris and Arctic Cat snowmobiles from the late 60's and early 70's. I live in West Concord MN with my beautiful family. As for art, I can't draw for nothing, but really enjoy doing bodywork and paint!

@Dillon Aistrop Very nice!! Any chance the 51 Merc or 41 Ford will be Flathead powered? Love those Flatty's!

Olds-Powered Squarebody Dually Built at Home! | 455 Rocket Revival | Peace and Grease Podcast What do you get when you mix Midwest grit, old-school craftsmanship, and a fire-breathing 455 Oldsmobile big block? You get Justin’s 1976 GMC Crew Cab Dually, reborn from a Craigslist basket case into a ground-scraping, thunder-rolling highway bruiser. This isn’t your average squarebody story—it’s family, faith, fabrication, and full send. We sat down with Justin Frederick to hear the wild backstory of this home-built beast: a junkyard-salvaged Rocket 455 that’s been in his family since he was 12, a DIY dually conversion using a rare JC Whitney kit, and enough sweat equity to make even the Hoonigan crew nod in approval. Every wrench turn is personal, every mile driven a legacy.

Just a gearhead where my garage is my second home to build cool stuff. Enthusiast of Big Block Oldsmobiles and Flathead V8's.
