My First Automation Client: A Journey of Growth and Gratitude
Back in March 2024, I had my first automation client, and it’s a story I’ll never forget. She was a social media management agency owner who found me on a French freelancing platform. A wonderful mix of professionalism and kindness, she was calm during our calls but didn’t shy away from being direct and strict over chat. (A dynamic I actually appreciated!) The task: Automating her content posting for Facebook and Instagram straight from her Notion database. It was a perfect challenge for someone like me who thrives on problem-solving. Now, here’s the fun part: it took me 7 days to set up 5 modules 😅. And I won’t lie—I had to turn to YouTube tutorials for some settings. (Quick shoutout to the founder of YouTube—if anyone knows who that is, drop it in the comments because we ALL owe them a big thank-you!) In the end, I delivered the job for $115 😂 Small sum? Maybe. But I never regretted it for a second. It wasn’t just about the money; it was about the confidence I gained knowing my automations were making a real impact. Oh, and by the way, those automations are still active today. Although I’ve noticed less data flowing through recently, it’s a good reminder to check in and see if the issue lies with her database—or with me. Either way, it’s all part of the journey! So, what was your first project like? Let’s share stories!
