Mind sharing your best Amazon blurbs
Hey all, would you be so good as to share with me your best Amazon selling blurbs. I need to get some visuals to study. I am not sure tropes, etc, will work in my blurb - as I write historical fiction. But, I'd like to see what other people are having success with. Thanks :)

This is my latest (including structure points) I might heed to tweak 1 paragpraph methinks: (Hook) He’s hunting a traitor. There’s just one problem: it might be him. (Enlighten/introduce main character) 1791. Switzerland. Conspiracy tears through the Confederacy. War is inevitable. A saviour is needed. Instead, we get... well... a pompous idiot who’d rather complain about his wardrobe and water-gruel. (Language/stakes) Amidst the Alps and anarchy, a nameless fugitive races for Zürich, clutching a scroll that could stop it all. Alas, a blow to the head erases his past, his purpose... and — nay! — his common sense, too. Now washed up in a rural backwater hell, and stripped of his silks and sanity, he’s convinced of one thing alone: he is meant for a life of exquisite luxury, not shovelling dung. Natch, his past comes a-calling. Beyond the domestic drudgery, mercenaries, cantonal guards, and a looming French invasion are all closing in. And so, as he bumbles through ambushes, lock-ups, and disasters aplenty, the ultimate irony is revealed: the WANTED posters bear a phiz suspiciously his own. (Parting/dynamic words) Insufferable, blundering, and ludicrously bold, he might — just might — change the course of history... provided his colossal vanity doesn’t doom them all first. “Glory, jest, and riddle of the world!” — Alexander Pope What I based on: - Hook – Start with a compelling opening line so readers want to know more - Enlighten – Give a clear sense of what the book is about in a succinct, dynamic and engaging way - Language – Use a tone and writing style that match your target audience. Also use powerful words that arouse interest and captivate (see below for more on keywords) - Parting shot – End with intrigue, tension or a question so the reader has no choice but to read your book… 1. Introduce the main character. 2. Outline the main conflict. 3. What are the stakes at stake? 4. Dynamic words that evoke emotion and visual imagery (also use these as a basis for keywords when categorising your book on self-publishing platforms).
Traffic vs Sales
Is it only my bad luck, or does anyone else here notice that when they go for traffic, the purchases are minimal, if any, yet, with sales, its a bit better? I have noticed several times now that traffic campaigns for me - sending direct to Amazon (even on my 1st edition, which had 12 reviews at that time) - just don't cut it. When I go with sales objective to my landing page, I seem to get better traction - though still minimal. I see all the time on here people sharing their dashboards showing sales & reads via traffic campaigns... Is it me, is it a curse? Or is it just that traffic campaigns do not suit my genre?

@Jill Cooper PS: I'm getting clicks on the ads. CTR 1.62. CTR all 1.80. Results 143 clicks. Landing page views 42. CPC 0.19. Campaign is now into its 6th day. Made 1 sale on day 1 & nothing since. Yesterday got 39KENP. So, it can't be creatives. I've been careful to ensure ad-copy, etc, all flow to the Amazon page. I have only 1 5-star review. Hence, why I tried the 99p deal. I emailed my subscribers with my Booksirens request. Didn't hear anything back. So, something is amiss somewhere.

@Jill Cooper Thanks so much :) Really helpful. I think I have been leaning into the emotional ads; & I can def do more of that. Targeting both UK & US. The country I've always had more sales from is actually US - with every cover I had since I first published. Curious. I def have elements of romance (but not enough to dress up as that). Thriller yes. I can package is as slow-burn. I've just dropped the price to 99c (will need to wait for it to reflect on .com). I'll have one more stab at sales (not traffic), sending to my landing page (which also has the option to subscribe for free sample). That way I can get people onto both Amazon & list from the same page. I'll let you know how this gets on. Thanks Jill :) xx

3... always cursed 3... Got that 1 sale two days ago (which I was chuffed about). But since then... crickets. 96 clicks so far. 1.58% CTR. I begin to think I'll stop with ads soon. They just do not work for me - no matter what I try. You cant get reviews until you have sales. You cant get sales without social proof. AAARRRGGHHH! the 99p offer finishes on 1st July. I will be most surprised if it's been a success.

@Jill Cooper hello, I might try that. Thanks
Book 1 price
Is it worthwhile reducing the first book of a series to 99p in order just to get people into it? & then, when there are sales having taken place - & pray, reviews - put the price back up then?
