The power of saying “I am”
Yesterday I was listening to a podcast, and the host kept saying to herself: "I am an exceptionally organized person." (She is a professional organizer but really only considers herself "moderately organized", or "organized enough". She was telling a story about a podcast she was a guest on, where the host encouraged her to say this new line.) At first, I thought it was just words. But then I noticed something. As I listened and the more she said it, the more I believed her, and, strangely, I even felt myself shift. My chest relaxed, my brain felt clearer, more confident, and I realized how often I hedge my own identity with “I’m becoming” instead of simply “I am.” That tiny difference? It’s really about self-trust. Saying it aloud, claiming it for yourself, signals to your brain that you already are that person. It clears the mental fog. It stops the circling. It gives you clarity in your decisions, your actions, your next step. For me, that’s what clarity feels like: fully believing myself when I speak. So here’s a question for you, my friends: Where have you been living in “I’m becoming” energy when what you really need is to start saying “I am”? Take a moment today to claim it. Even one sentence can shift everything. Please share if you're comfortable. 💛
