I think I had left my brain in retirement mode! I had no idea there was so much to think about all the time with golf! Perhaps being older means you need bite sized pieces of information to work with?
We all need to breakdown tasks into smaller pieces to learn. Golf is very complex, everyone thinks it's just about hitting a ball in a certain direction. Wrong, but we don't think all the time, I think most people go onto auto pilot and that is where they lose 5-10 shots a round. Switch on and off for each shot, but remember the dynamics of the course, % shots for safe miss side, you can save shots before you make the shot by playing short and around hazards. Play SMART Alison.
Practiced my putting today ...on kitchen carpet...with the new putter trying to work out the best grip for me . The grip is bulkier than I'm used to but I'm pleased with what I've done so far. Need some gradients now . Hope to go up to club tomorrow sometime .
Just make sure the club us comfortable in your hands, don't squeeze the grip too hard as you can feel it more. The putter grip is the lightest grip you have. Just try different strengths on your grip and keep us updated as you adjust.
Had the most amazing 9 holes ...first time having a 47 . Pleased with myself. Really took note of the fuelling your body as you play from the zoom meeting...plus watched Geds videos before i went out on the course. ...Only in the rough once!!!
Well done, the videos are there all the time si you can check back in as many times as you need to. 45 is the next target, which isn't far away, just keep sticking to your new disciplines.
Great session last night team. Lots of good quality questions coming in, and some great answers from our panel. I will schedule the September session. Until then, play well, and keep engaging in the WhatsApp Group sharing experiences and encouraging each other.
