Valentine’s Day bakers check in.
Big businesses start filling the stores with Valentine’s stuff the first week of January. We should be on that same timing if we want real profits, not last minute chaos. So I want to hear what you’re doing for Valentine’s Day baking this year. How are you advertising? How are you receiving orders? DM, form, website, email, pre order link? How are you pacing yourself so you don’t crash out? How are you pricing so it’s actually profitable? And be honest, when did you start planning and promoting? Did you start the first week of January, mid January, or are you just getting started now? Drop your plan in the comments. If you’re stuck, say what you’re selling and I’ll help you tighten it up.

@Dr. Breanna James depending on your state, it can absolutely be a thing. I know some people that turn their garages into kitchens and sale pick up and delivery through 3rd party apps. I’m currently doing research for every state in the U.S. cottage laws and 3rd party delivery apps. I was planning on creating a short course on that. Just to warn you, it takes a few weeks to of showing up consistently to rank high in the apps but once you do, it will be non stop!
Let's talk "Social Media Marketing"
Quick question for you all 👀 How many of us are actually comfortable posting about our baking business on social media? Let’s be real, being visible online is important, but it can also feel scary, awkward, and exhausting. There’s pressure to show up, stay consistent, and somehow always have “new” content… on top of actually baking. One thing that’s helped me take the pressure off: I take simple B-roll of my baking process! Mixing, shaping, ovens opening, finished cookies or cakes And I repurpose those clips for years. You should too. It removes the stress of creating something brand new every single day. You don’t need to perform. You just need to document what you’re already doing. If social media feels intimidating for you, you’re not alone. Drop a 🤍 or a comment. I’m curious where everyone’s at.

@Dr. Breanna James videos on social media showing your process so very well in terms of organic outreach. I post them all of the time and grew my following that way. It can feel awkward at first but once you get the hang of it you can record clips of your creations being put together and use those clips over and over

@Mercedes Cahill Hi Mercedes! I'm so glad you're here. You're not alone with what you're dealing with. Baking at home, dealing with shopping and time management while baking on top of everything else that goes on in our daily lives is much harder than people realize at times. You can create a post here for all of us to chime in to help if you're comfortable :)

@Dr. Breanna James Hi Dr. Breanna, welcome to The Profitable Baker. I’m so happy you’re here. Your work is beautiful. That rainbow cake is such a showstopper and those cupcakes look so clean and professional. I love that you’ve been doing this for years and you’re considering turning your “paid hobby” into a real business. That’s exactly what we do here. What are the biggest pain points for you right now? Is it pricing, getting consistent orders, marketing/social media, time management, packaging and delivery, or staying organized with costs and profit? Tell me what feels hardest and I’ll point you to the right next step 💛
