This is going to be epic! I can no longer attend as I am now traveling for work. Hopefully there would be enough discussions here so I can get some learnings.
Ok... I'll break my rule one time...
I know I said I wasn't going to post for 10 days... But this just seems really important. Check out the loom video for context. https://www.skool.com/with-word-wonder-3284/about?ref=e832b76be971422e82f60230d6667ca4 Drop an emoji below if you're in... as we celebrate Shelina stepping out as an entrepreneur!

@Joseph Isosaki - the way you handled this job rejection was a true masterclass for all of us. When I first read the title of your post, I felt immediate anger on your behalf. But after watching and hearing how you processed this experience, I see it so differently now. Here’s what stood out to me: 1. I deeply appreciate the maturity you showed, layered with the vulnerability and courage it took to share this with your Skool community. 2. You gave the people who rejected you grace while still standing in your truth. I found myself reflecting on how I’ve responded to rejections in the past. While I’ve had the courage to push back and stay true to my values, I haven’t always offered grace in the process. 3. You seem genuinely at peace with letting go. I’ve often gotten stuck in the “how could they?” and “this is so unfair” moments, feeling like systems need to change right now. You reminded me that it’s okay to let go so we can move forward and climb our next mountain. 4. You turned a disappointing moment into purpose. You held your boundaries, took accountability for what you could control, and lovingly offered feedback for how the other party and the system could grow. You pushed back with clarity and compassion. 5. By sharing this on Skool, you’ve given all of us a gift. You’ve helped us reflect on how we can handle disappointment with courage, grace, and alignment. Thank you for modeling what it looks like to lead with integrity, even in the hard moments. 6.I love that Mama Isosaki is here cheering you on 😍
Hello Friends and Fellow Big Brainers!
This is my first post on this community and on skool. And as Joe advised and nudged us all, here is what's on my mind right now: Origin (Current State, “The Valley”): I’m in a sacred pause. After years of leading billion-dollar MedTech businesses and proving myself in rooms that didn’t always see me, I found myself laid off. Laid off after: - recently being promoted in role because executives knew I am VP/vice president-ready, aka "made for more" as they called it. - After I had been going through a bitter divorce - After I moved out of the home I had previously built with my husband and girls - After I bought a new house and incurred a huge mortgage, which was because my leaders promised me a tenure and career on this executive fast-track role I was promoted to. It was a gut punch. It rattled my sense of stability, safety, security, my identity, and the rhythms I was used to. But it also gave me space to breathe, reflect, and ask the question I hadn’t given myself enough time to ask: What do I truly want now? These days, I’m using this pause to realign. I’m advising startup founders and CEOs, mentoring women and people of color, and helping founders and teams build with conscience, clarity, courage, and care. I’m making sure equity, belonging and purpose aren’t just buzzwords but part of how we build; we actually deliver healthcare that actually reaches people who need it the most. It’s not always comfortable, but it feels honest. And I trust that this space is preparing me for what’s next. Desired Future State (Hilltop View): What does the hilltop view look like? It looks like stepping into a role or continuing to grow my consulting and coaching practice in a way that feels right in my mind, heart, and gut. It looks like leading growth at a mission-driven company that truly cares about patients and clinicians, building solutions that reach everyone, not just those with the best insurance or zip code. Or it looks like working with a steady stream of aligned clients who are ready to grow with purpose, strategy, and accountability.

@Stine Marie Alme Thank you so much for these words. They truly mean a lot. It’s not always easy to share this part of the journey, but messages like yours remind me why it matters and stories like these need to be told. That tension between wanting to do meaningful work and staying true to our values is so real, and I love that you’re honoring it in your own journey too. This “sacred pause” has been uncomfortable and clarifying, and I’m learning to trust that alignment creates its own kind of momentum. Thank you for seeing me and for reminding me that I’m not alone in choosing alignment over just “safe and secure.” Cheering you on too as you build your next chapter with courage and intention.

Thank you @Joseph Isosaki. You seem to be a master networker and connector. @Cassandre Voltaire @Shelina Ramnarine Let's work on a collab together. I don't have any concrete ideas yet, but shall we meet and go from there? Perhaps a vodcast format to start with?

Backdrop: I’m in the early innings of entrepreneurship and solo-parenting. Since my divorce my young kids toggle between two households, reliable backup is rare and emotions can run high. In this season I’ve chosen to put parenting first while still giving my fledgling venture room to breathe. Here are a few things that I am working on with the goal to push towards more focus on my brand new entrepreneurship venture: 1. Learning to let go of my assumption: "If I’m not present daily and in every moment, I’m failing as a parent". Solution: My kids seem to recall "peak moments" more, so I am leaning towards designing more "presence" around those peak moments. 2. Reframing what success looks like and corresponding KPIs. My energy index and stress levels are my biggest KPIs right now. My health suffered a lot through periods of extreme stress in last one year, and I am reclaiming my health and power! 3. Seeking feedback and continuous improvement: We do family retrospective analysis every couple weeks: what worked / what flopped. Also discuss what major events/peak moments are coming up? My goal is to let me kids feel agency and surface friction before it becomes resentment and get organized around those peak moments. The whole journey is a constant work in progress...
