Let’s talk outlining! 📝✨
Every author has some kind of process for planning out their books. . . even if that process is “I don’t outline at all.” (AKA, Pantsers 😅) 👉 I’d love to know: - Do you outline your stories before you write? - If so, what’s your process? - And do you think there’s such a thing as “the best way” to outline? Some writers swear by detailed scene breakdowns. Others use index cards, sticky notes, or just a loose summary. And some absolutely thrive as discovery writers. There’s no one-size-fits-all — it’s about what helps you stay excited and keep moving. Let’s share what’s worked (and what hasn’t) to help each other find our best way forward.

Hello, everyone. I've been laser-focused on the redraft of a book on the intersection of dreams (the nighttime kind) and politics. I've been writing, editing, and revising for a long time. I see now the length of the process may have worked weirdly to my advantage. I now have a perspective I would not have had otherwise. But I need a way to handle the drafts, the huge amount of information (I 'm a journalist, so this is a project that wedges consciousness and journalism). I'm posting this not to comment so much on process, but to ask about systems/software. Is there a book software you might recommend to help organize/edit at this stage of the process -- Atticus? Scribner? something totally different? I prefer a program/system/app for my computer -- not a monthly/yearly virtual subscription. Also, something that would make formatting easier for publication on KDP, etc. I'll upload a profile photo after I send this to replace the dark blob, gracing this post. Thank you in advance.
